Korede Yemi Adedoyin --

Everton U18 winger Korede Adedoyin signed his first professional contract for the club in July 2019. He’s been at the Toffees since the age of 10,  and started to make appearances for the U18 side in January 2017, scoring on his debut as a substitute to get a late winner at Middlesbrough.

Adedoyin was offered a new deal at the end of the 2018-19 season after helping Everton finish third in the U18 Premier League, scoring 11 goals in 17 matches. One of his proudest moments was scoring four goals for the Toffees in their 7-0 demolition of Newcastle United in the Under-18 Premier League.

Everton Under-18s coach, Paul Tait, said afterwards he was full of praise for Adedoyin, and believed the player’s hard work paid off. He told Everton’s official website:

"We played him in a different position today to try to get him on the ball and he’s done fantastic. His work rate was excellent today and he got his reward with four goals. Hopefully that will make him see the benefit of working hard."

In his first words after penning the new contract, he said: "I'm so happy to sign this contract. I am very grateful to all the Academy coaches who have helped me become who I am today. The likes of Sean Lundon, Paul Tait and Keith Southern have been fantastic for me.

"Everton has helped me a lot not just on the pitch, but off the pitch, too. Now, I just want to repay the belief they have shown in me, work as hard as I can and continue to progress."

Lagos-born Adedoyin has committed his international future to Nigeria and trained with the Flying Eagles in Germany ahead of the 2019 FIFA U20 World Cup.

Korede Adedoyin joined Hamilton Academical on loan for the 2019-20 season but he featured just once in the Caramel Wafer Cup and failed to make a first-team league appearance in the SPL thanks to injuries and competition for places. His loan was cut short in January 2020 and he returned to Finch Farm but failed to feature in any Under-23s games before the season was cut short by the 2020 Coronavirus pandemic. And at the end of June, with his contract expiring, Everton confirmed that he would be released, without ever playing for the Under-23s or the first team.

Adedoyin joined Sheffield Wednesday in September 2020.
