FA PREMIER YOUTH ACADEMY — League Setup
(Not yet updated) The FA Premier Youth Academy Under-19s League set-up has four regional groups of 10 teams each:

The season started with some inter-group matches against teams from the farthest (geographically) regional groups. For Everton, that meant a game with a team in Groups C, and D. Everton then played three teams from the closer Group B.
For the main part of the season, Everton played each of the other teams in the local Group A, both home and away. They finished up playing each of the remaining teams in Group B just once, giving 24 matches in all. By finishing top of their regional Group table, Everton progressed direct to the semi-final of the national playoffs, where they lost to Nottingham Forest.

Steve Milne: With the game moved forward 24 hours, a good chance to check out both the academy sides over the weekend. Leeds away; my first time to see their state of the art training ground, looks quite impressive.

Not a lot to say about the second half the only real chance came via a Garside half chance on 80 min's shot on target. So at the end, 1-1 was a fair result.

Neil Dewsnip's side went behind ten minutes after the break, but looked to have put themselves on the road to victory when Italian striker Patrice Pascucci levelled just after the hour, heading home at the back post from Scott Brown's corner. But with 20 minutes left Wolves claimed the points with the winner. And despite creating numerous chances throughout the Blues slipped to only their second defeat of the season.

Steve Milne: On the way home from Austria, a small detour to watch the Under-19's take on Winsford. We won 1-0 — Thorbinson with the only real move of the whole game, a right footed shot from 25 yard out flew in to the top right hand corner, leaving the keeper with no chance.
