For the first time in my life, I will miss a Merseyside Derby. A family holiday booked in the October half term. Lovely, catch the last of the rays. Until I check the fixture list. Liverpool at home, how soul destroying! To add insult to injury, Larrissa will be making the trip to Goodison the day before I return. Blues in Europe, at Goodison, I've only waited years for it and faced persistent abuse from my red 'mates'.

Recalling the last Derby made me smile. Sitting in a mate's front room. 3 blues, 3 reds. Perfect, friendly derby after all. As the booze flowed so did our anger towards each other, the atmosphere increased. We were mocked when we were singing at the full time whistle, proud of the performance the lads had put in. Yet it could of been so different. AJ's chance anyone? Rafas post match comments were unsavoury to say the least, pitiful in fact.

'' Small teams come here and play deep, narrow and compact with nine men behind the ball'' he said

We do apologise Rafa... actually, we shouldn't. After all, you were the one who made yourself look like a complete tit on live television. Perhaps somebody should of reminded him of a few things. How about, we were the first team on the Mersey, the team that has won a trophy in every decade of competitive football, heralded the greatest striker of all time in Dixie Dean and even created the art of pass and move otherwise known as the School of Science, although at the moment such passing is non-existent!

I will be watching nervously from a bar in Mallorca. At least I will not have to endure Derby heartache with my 'Radio Red' mates. Winning would give me more to say when I return. More than 'Radio Red' . Oh how that infuriates them, as they know it's true! Has anyone noticed when you annihilate them in an argument the 'We've won it 5 times' line comes out?

Sing your hearts out, rip the roof off and believe in OUR side. And don't forget lads, one Evertonian is worth 20 Liverpudlians.

Like it Joe
Dont bother looking for RS lad, as usual there’ll be at least one ready to make a twat of himself. wherever you go, mind you having someone to ridicule after the game will make you feel as if you have’nt missed out all together

most liverpoo- supporters, genuine or just along for the ride cannot help but mention their exploits in europe since 1977 at some point. Personally i could not give a rat arse about how many cupas theyve won. its just a statistic. And prefer to rememeber this years Milan defeat (still cheers me up five months later),and countless other red shite defeats over the years. hopefully that miserable f@#k gerrard will still be feeling the effects of wednesday and will have an off day. he is the equivalent of arteta in being the engine room of the team. And is it me but why is it most years we play the shite at goodison in the autumn or september/october? . I thought fixtures lists were random and not selected. lets see now - return at anfield, march or april? Hmm...

Enjoy it mate, last year I watched the 3-0 in a bar in Mallorca, me, the not interested girlfriend, one other blue and about four families of r-s. You should have watched the smile disappear from their smug faces. The last goal I jumped up and shouted "Its f#*king gone in!" as their tit of a goalie dropped the ball in the net. Its brilliant being a blue cos all the pain and worry of years passed make you enjoy these victories that bit more. All their fans can do is phone in and moan on 5 Live when we battle hard and get draws (like last year at Anf.. you know where) and say "well Rafa isn’t really the right manager for us..." ad nauseum. We know they are tossers, so Come on You Blues, make me proud and fight them every inch so when the whistle blows they know they’ve been in a proper game.

Couldnt agree more more Dave.Who ever is responsible should be bannished to the Kremlin Road!!! At least he could leave 1/2 hour berore the end with the rest of rs. Cahill should not even be on the bench. It is time for Arteta to show himself, even dominate in a big match and not just against lesser teams. This is why he is not chosen for Spain. 3pts please. I will be watching on TV here in Vikingland. So enjoy the sun Joe.

Think of it as the maturity of young adulthood, displacing the stupidity of kindergarten adolesence. We have always depicted the club crest of our opponents in our match reviews. Note also that we call them "Liverpool" and that they play at "Anfield" (one of our old grounds). If you have a problem with any of this, I’m sure there is a website near by more suited to your playground mentality.
