Ruddy admits future lies elsewhere

3/9/2010
John Ruddy has admitted that the pending arrival of Jan Mucha this summer is a clear sign that his footballing future lies away from Goodison Park if he is to keep playing at first-team level.

The 23 year-old is currently on an extended loan at Motherwell in the Scottish Premier League and has already signalled his desire to stay at Fir Park. He has also been linked with a move to Glasgow giants, Celtic.

In addition to Tim Howard and Iain Turner, Mucha will provide stern competition for the first-choice goalkeeper's slot at Everton next season and Ruddy says, "I've resigned myself to the fact that my time at Everton is at an end, but I've enjoyed it and I've got nothing bad to say about them."
