On-loan centre-back doing well

Scunthorpe manager Alan Knill speaks highly of on-loan Everton defender Shane Duffy, 19, who extended his spell at Glanford Park into a third month last Friday and celebrated with his maiden goal for the Iron in the 4-2 weekend triumph over Tranmere.

"I think he's been excellent for us, It's so easy to forget he's so young. I think he's going to be a really good player.

"The biggest thing that any centre-half needs is, when the ball comes into the box, a desire to get your head or a foot on it, and he has that."

"It's a youth loan which we will continue, and then before January we will speak to Everton about trying to extend until the end of the season. We feel it's beneficial for both parties, but it's up to them."
