Moyes laments lack of fire power

David Moyes has slammed referee Lee Mason for some poor decisions against Stoke but was more disappointed with his own side. Everton did not muster a shot on target for the entire 90 minutes against a Stoke side who have a poor record when they play after a Europa League week.

Moyes, who was less than happy with referee Lee Mason's performance, has made it clear that he wants to add a striker to his side and he reiterated the need after the surprise home defeat to the Potters.

"The people who come locally and the people who come regular know that I've said we're short - undoubtedly we're short.

"The expectations are that we should always be winning these sort of games.

"But Stoke have spent well in the market, they've bought some players to improve their team and one of them was up front, Peter Crouch.

"We've not at this moment in time.

"But hey, that's not what it's about. We had 11 players out on the pitch and we didn't win the game, Stoke did.

"They scored the goal which counted."
