Saha to play for Spurs? Or Not?

David Moyes has claimed a 'gentleman's agreement' between Everton and Tottenham will prevent Louis Saha facing his former club in tomorrow evening's fixture. However, Moyes will not be surprised to see Saha on the field for Spurs if Harry Redknapp decides he is needed...

Saha will return to Goodison Park for the first time since his departure at the end of January, in the Premier League's late kick-off between the Blues and Redknapp's high-flying Spurs.

But Moyes insists that he is unfazed by the threat posed by the French striker, who has scored three times in four domestic outings, as both he and Redknapp agreed Saha will not play.

When questioned about whether he was concerned by the danger of facing a former player, he said: "No because I think I've got an agreement with Harry that he doesn't play. Louis doesn't play unless Tottenham have got lots of injuries."

However, the Everton boss also stated that the terms, believed to have been brokered in the deal which took Saha to White Hart Lane two months ago, may be reneged should Redknapp need the hit man.

He added: "If you're a gentleman it's allowed isn't it? Gentlemen shake hands and do things some times. But if he needs him, he'll play."

According to the Daily Star:

Any such agreement is against Premier League rules and Redknapp can ill afford to fall foul of the football authorities with the England manager's job up for grabs.
