Young Keeper Roberts off on loan

One of Everton's young Reserve goalkeepers, Connor Roberts, has gone on loan with Colwyn Bay who play in the Blue Square Bet North. Roberts is probably fifth or sixth in line for Tim Howard's position, behind Mucha, Hahnemann, Davies, and Fitzgibbons.

The 19-year-old signed for Everton as a scholar in July 2009. He joined the Toffees from Tranmere Rovers and his progress has seen him achieve international recognition.

He was born in Wrexham and despite also being eligible for Northern Ireland, he's played for Wales at both Under-16 and Under-17 level.

He was Everton's regular Under-18s goalie in 2010-11 and was part of the side which secured Academy league glory at Fulham in May.

Roberts spent part of this season on loan at Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division strugglers Burscough, who eventually extended his stay.
