''We could have scored six or seven''

“Both the result and performance were very good but the result is the most important thing,” David Moyes told the BBC. “We could have scored six or seven but they also had three or four opportunities but our goalkeeper made some good saves.”

Fair comment.

Much prefer what Moyes is up to these days we'll have off days like the WBA game and we'll be more open but it's a fair trade in my book.

We play with a bit of devil and it's to be applauded, no coincidence we're getting better results.

Keep this up and anything is possible.

It's also just more fun to watch! Keep it up

Anichebe's recent goals make him look better than ever before. But the wasted chances tell us that he simply isn't good enough.

Don't get me wrong, going forward we are great to watch, but we also could have conceded 4 or 5 yesterday; a good side would have buried us on the break.

Moyes needs to address the holding role in front of back 4 quickly. Let's hope Gibson is back soon because we are really missing his positional sense and ball retention.

Bit harsh, Jason.

Contrary to what his supporters have been saying, Moyes is proving, to me and everybody else who've been saying it, you don't need "loads of money" to play football! Let's hope he keeps it up, there's no reason why he shouldn't.

Colin, do you not see any correlation whatsoever with the amount we have spent in this transfer window and the improved standard of football since we have spent that money?

How do you think we would be getting on without Pienaar or Mirallas in the side?

I had a go on here about the hype of Anichebe's performance against the Geordies as I did not think he played too good. Yesterday, he had the best game I have seen him play for us; he should have scored more but he had a great game.

I think those wanting Mucha in yesterday were also put in their place as Howard made some pretty vital saves at a time the game could have changed against us, a superb performance from everyone of them.

I wish people would give Anichebe a break, he had a fair record last year and has got two in two this season. Like just about any forward, he's a confidence player and I think he'll start to convert more chances as the games go on.

I wonder how many of us could do our jobs well if we had several thousand people calling us every name under the sun in the background!

Dan, don't you think what we've spent is paltry compared to what some others have spent? Moyes, I think, has maybe started to believe he can do it and has changed his tactics, and that didn't cost anything.

I like to think that we, the assembled throng on ToffeeWeb, deserve a lot of credit – and possibly a cash reward – for the recent improvement in Victor's form. Our constant criticism of him has acted like a spur, galvanizing him into action.

If I had to pick one person to pick up the Best Coaching Award and pocket the cash, I'd say... ME. I've always said he was a big useless lump with the ball skills and emotional maturity of a toddler – and my words have finally borne fruit.

2 goals, 2 games... keep it up, Victor!

Now practice on your first touch and you could become a good player.

The "money" hasn't come from a benefactor which has been the argument.

Self-generated funds via wheeler dealing has provided what we see today and that avenue has always been available.

If Moyes hasn't done it successfully before, that's down to him.

Kev (462) but what drives us all here?

If you want to give credit where it's due, top right of page when you open TW, surely!

Let's face facts - if it weren't for the girl sitting on the bed with the inch thick specs, in the Mature Dating UK ads, there'd be tumbleweed blowing across TW and we'd all be showing our tats on Bluekipper.

I'd actually love to meet her to try a chat-up line I've been working on.

This is the most exciting team we have produced under Moyes and we look a threat all over the pitch. Hope we keep this good form up just a nagging doubt that the Vadis deal could come back to bite us on the bum as the only place were really short is centre mid.
