Everton: Premier League’s most impressive side this season?

, Soccer Lens , 12 February, 7comments  |  Jump to most recent
The bottom line is that Everton have played well in almost every game this season, and their football has been of a terrific standard. Throughout the side there have been terrific performances, and the side has a great balance to it. Their only negative so far this season has been that they have dropped silly points in games they should’ve won.

I remember when we said we'd trade a few league places for better football but in fact thanks to Moyes we're having our cake & eating it. What's not to like?

Let us eat cake as some French Aristocrat didn't say: A misfiring striker, an engine room that's spluttering along and a defence that can only get a clean sheet if they use the washing machine. No! All very likeable when you consider how tired the Everton squad is, can't wait for the next big games at the homes of our rivals.

If I remember correctly you were were predicting a defeat at Manure for us & a "stroll in the park" victory for the Shite against WBA and they'd be well on their way to overtaking us in no time. Still 6 points adrift. Humble apologies if I've remembered d it wrong!

Brendan I never predict results of football matches especially not ours. I think I was responding to a post that and pointing out that the Dark Side could go above us if we failed to get a something at OT.

Another post was in response to someone not realising that the DS had brought forward their game with Swansea to this coming Sunday.
I have never used the term 'Stroll in the Park' for any match prior to it taking place. So I was merely contemplating what could happen and not what would happen.

I've never said ever that Everton are going to win or lose a game before a ball is kicked and I would never ever say that the DS would win any particular match. I always hope that we win and that they don't.

Maybe it was someone else, unless of course my memories fading faster than I realised.

COYB ... and we'll really shake em up when we (May) win the FA Cup 'cos Everton.....

The author hasn't been watching us since the turn of the year, but then the lads are knackered!

I think the article is a great summary of our season so far.

The first half of the season was our best in 25 years, with our main striker misfiring. Since then we have hit a bad patch, as all teams do throughout a season. Still during that period we have only lost at Old Trafford.

Anyone who has been to Goodison this season with any footballing knowledge at all will know we have outplayed every team other than Liverpool and Villa, where we came back from 2 goals down on both occasions. Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham are no better than Everton at the moment.

I believe Jelavic's form and the teams collective form will pick up again and we have every chance of claiming 4th spot. Had we had Van Persie up front we would be top of the table.

All the doom and gloom merchants must not have endured the past 25 years at Goodison.
