Moyes's fears allayed by good result

David Moyes's fears were allayed by a good result against Queens Park Rangers at Goodison Park today.

"I was a little worried about it. QPR are desperate for the points for different reasons to us, but overall I thought we did a professional job.

"It was always going to be a game where I had fears, I've got to say," said Moyes.

"We've been playing well and picking up good results but we've not had a great record against QPR since they came up.

"We played some good football at times and made quite a few chances but didn't convert them all.

"I'm more than satisfied with the result. I said to the players that the job was to get this game done.

"The players have got a real resilience and toughness to them. Because of that, we keep at it and the players know what is expected.

"A clean sheet was important because we lost two goals at Tottenham but we picked up a couple of clean sheets the week before.

"It's important that you do that at this time of the year."

I agree, we could've easily got beat by a team at the bottom, hopefully this shows a professional attitude to the end of season, instead of going out on the pitch thinking we only have to turn up.

Fourth place. COYB

He looked pretty uncomfortable on MOTD. Not surprising really surrounded by those clowns.

It's certainly getting interesting: Tuesday is huge — if we can win that, we're right in it.

Straight from the horses mouth, he 'had fears'. Now we know him for the despicable coward he truly is.

That's a joke by the way.

Well let's be fair, he was sat with 3 blokes who have a sycophantic feeling towards the guy, but typical the way he jumps to the aid of a fellow Jock, also a defender, when Hansen and Keown were arguing over Fulham players handcuffing themselves to avoid making a handball.

He suits MotD: his complete lack of personality and charisma will suit him well next to Lawro and Keown.

Although, what do you think Jela will be thinking about Moyes wanting a centre forward?

As football supporters, we all know games against teams at the bottom of the table this time of year are always difficult... but let's be honest, they're down there for a reason, as QPR showed on Saturday. I expected them to show some fight, they have some good individual players, but as a team I thought they were playing as if they already knew they're down.

Still they had to be beat and I thought we done our job. I hope Fellaini and Pienaar enjoyed their rest they seemed to still be on suspension on Saturday. They both owe us big games on Tuesday. It's simple: win and we're in with a shout; loose and we will probably stay in 6th come the end of the season.

Ross #756, he'd better be thinking 'I'd better get my arse in gear and score some goals and show the gaffer I'M the centre forward around here' if not he'd better be packing his bags.
