If Moyes has known about this for months, then does anyone think he'd have known last season when Utd lost in the last seconds? Utd fans think AF was going to retire then.

And if Everton hit top 4 this season, does anyone think he'd have hung around?

Nick, if Moyes, as he says wasn't planning on leaving and was planning his pre-season, then why didn't he sign a new contract weeks ago and get it out of the way?

You plan ahead on the basis you were going to stay. He's not going to shoot... erm, knife himself in the foot. Lets not get all silly season.

One thing he can now do Nick, trade that knife he always took to a gunfight, for the gun!

Guns have safety catches. I can see him staring at it until the 60th minute.

I see him banging his gun on the table wondering why it's not working then blowing his nose off.

You were planning for Man U's pre season you liar. Don't say you planned on staying because you would have signed.
This complete, bare faced lie shows the complete contempt he has shown to the club and the fans.
You can piss off now Davey. Why should we say goodbye to you?

He also said he would make a decision at the end of the season.
The league was wrapped up at Christmas.
Ferguson did not wake up on Wednesday and thought " think I'll announce my retirement today" Have a quick meeting with his Board and somewhere meet Moyes and offer him a job.
Moyes, who apparently was an honourable man, should have informed his agent to have nothing to do with anyone until the end of the season, and, if any approach was made prior to the end of his contract inform any interested parties to approach his employers.
People in glass house springs to mind.
Two faced bastard who should be dismissed.

Moyes has just cost Everton a lot of money in compensation, by not having a contract signed

That is the part that sickens me

After all Moyes did try to convice us all that Big Vic was integral to his plans for success....!!!

Bullshit. This has been on the cards all season. His excuse of "i'll see at the end of the season meant nothing". He knew quite well what was happening at the end of the season and knew that he'd be replacing ferguson.

He's insulting our intelligence with that comment. Ferguson has known about this for a good while, he just didn't want to make the same mistake he did last time round by announcing it in advance. It just isn't credible that this hasn't been planned for months.

So who's buying into this fucking shit that he was never planning on going. My fucking arse you lying shit. I supported Moyes the first three years of his reign after that period of stabilisation he should have gone. 11 years and no trophy to show for it piss poor joke. Lets also not forget through all of this KENWRIGHT who is the biggest bull shitter ever Calls himself a supporter my fucking arse. Fucked up every deal that's ever been put on the table, Kings Dock, fortress funds still on there way, potential buyers, potential investors, sale of the training complex etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc and it goes on. He bought the club by remortgaging us so put fuck all in the club yet values us at 150 million for his and the so called billionaires sitting on the board who also have never put fuck all into the club either. The only people who put money into this club and have done so all their lives are us the supporters so any sale belongs to us not in their fucking pockets. Kenwright has fucked up every deal possible in fact you would struggle to name one he hasn't fucked up. This man and the board of directors or shall we say muppets will fuck up the appointment of the new manager and I fear will sell of our Crown Jewels (Baines, Fellaini, Mirallas, Jags) in the summer to feather their pockets. This is the worse year we will witness and I fear we will struggle to survive. The only way out with a glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel is for Kenwright to GO NOW. All this attention on Moyes has seriously clouded people's minds, the problem still exists in Kenwright and he board.

I cant believe the stupidity of fans on here, who think Ferguson would have decided to leave before the 20th title was confirmed, or at least pretty much in the bag. Do any of you know anything about football?

Or did you think Ferguson would retire without being sure of the 20th title, or having wrestled it back from the grasps of City.

Sheer stupidity.

John Crawley

Jim your logic is faulty, yes Ferguson may not have finalised his decision until he was sure that he was going to win the title but that doesn't mean that discussion haven't been going on about this scenario.

Plus the title has been in the bag for a while now.

Moyes, you sir are full of shit. What an empty comment that totally patronises the fans intelligence. Do one ginger.

Nothing faulty about it John. Anyone who knows football, who knows Ferguson, knows he wouldnt have made the decision lightly, and before the title was secured, or thereabouts. Moyes wouldnt have been contacted six months ago...it would have happened in the last few weeks, when the title was wrapped up. The same period in which Ferguson's hip operation was scheduled, and the retirement foreboded. Incidentally, news of the delayed hip surgery came one week ago... delayed from the end of the season to August, suggesting a recent decision to retire.

And Moyes comments on the Bundesliga six months ago...some on here would have us believe it was all smoke and mirrors no doubt.

Utter bullshit, said it in other threads a £2.3Bn business doesnt take an overnight punt on a new manager, this was all but signed months ago and anyone gullible enough to believe otherwise would fall for anything

How naive do you think we supporters are, Davey? ...if you where planning on staying, then why did you not commit between January and now?

Sounds like you're trying to cover yourself in case the worst happens.

the league was won at christmas in all but handing them the trophy, so there has been plenty of time to finalize this deal, not sure whats so hard to understand about that.

Gavin - "this was all but signed months ago and anyone gullible enough to believe otherwise would fall for anything"

That'll be quite a few then, P.T Barnum said "there's a sucker born every minute" and never a truer word.

And seeing BK applauded by Evertonians showed that we have more than our fair share.

Jim - sorry but what you are saying doesn't make sense. The Guardian reported on the 8th May that United had identified Moyes as Ferguson's successor several months ago http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/may/08/david-Moyes-manchester-united-alex-ferguson. To think they didn't contact Moyes until a week or so ago is frankly unbelievable.
