David Moyes — last pre-match conference

David Moyes gave his last pre-match press conference as Everton manager today, with video of his Q&A available at EvertonFC.com.

Again, Moyes tried to keep it all about Everton, despite the typically asinine journo questions, as he looked forward to the Chelsea game.

"It would mean a lot to win the game. I want to win as many games as we can and I want to finish the season with a win. We've had a good really record all season. We'll go to Chelsea and go there trying to get the three points."

Good luck, you haven't managed to get 3 points at Chelsea in your 10 previous attempts but you never know.

no real reason not to go all out for it is there?

Last game of the season

A nothing game in the sense that we will not move up or down the table

Moyes's last game - his swansong - so go all out for it

Moyes's last game to let the Man-U throngs admire his attacking footie

Moyes's last chance to win at one of the 'top-4' in his EFC 11 years

Moyes's last chance to show Man-U throngs how good Felli and Baines are

Will he won't he? That is the question. Will Moyes finally go all out for an away win against a top 4 club or will he resort to his normal style and defend? I believe the latter as he won't want to lose his last game.

Even in his last game Moyes will bottle it as he has all the big away ties. United fans must be shaking in boots at the prospect of never winning again at chelsea, arsenal or the shite. Fortunately nothing rests on tomorrows game because Moyes doesnt know the meaning of the phrase going all out!

Mick, "bottle it" smells of fear. What's he got to be scared about. F.. all. As Paul says, we'll neither move up nor down (unlike the grand old Duke of York) and he knows where he'll be next season. Jeez, I know the season is over but for some reason I'm really looking forward to this - would just love to finish off with a win against them.

We must avoid defeat at all costs - Chelsea are the only team who have beaten us at home this season, and thus the only team who can do the double over us.

Goodison has been a real fortress, lets hope that continue next season. However I would hope that Moyes would risk throwing velios, duffy and barkley into the mix.

Not sure about Velios Jeremy. I don't even think he has been playing for the reserves recently. He may be injured or just out of favour/form. Shame, he looked quite useful in spells and was worth a gamble.

By the way, before someone starts preaching to me that Moyes is this/that, a genius etc, the reason why I say "heeeeyyyy" is because it means we're now near the end of all this Moyes tit-for-tat.

From what I have heard Vellios has been playing for the reserves, may not recently though, and from what I hear he has given a really good account of himself.

Every time I've seen Velios, he has looked useful. He is also tall, which is a handy attribute in the box. He is also a nice chap - saw him arrive at GP once and he was very good with waiting supporters.

What does he need to do? He has a decent scoring record for us in the very few first team appearances he has. What have we got to lose? Jelavic most likely isn't going to find his scoring boots in the final game - he needs a good pre-season and a few friendlies against cannon fodder to get his confidence up. We know what vic can/can't do.

There is no money riding on this game - our league position can't change. Surely ts an opportunity for Moyes to show that fringe players (that he has chosen himself...) can perform for a new manager? Give them a chance.

I was at the dinner at St George's Hall last night. There was some real media manipulation going on, and Bill Kenwright was vomit inducing at times, but I have to say David Moyes spoke very eloquently and with some humility about his spell at the Club.

Brian Waring, we come from different sides of the fence as regards David Moyes, but as from Tuesday onwards he works for Manchester Utd (I know it will be Monday, but the press will all be about Sunday so I am giving it another twenty four hours).

Any talk about Everton from that date and certainly on ToffeeWeb should be about the hunt for the new man and not the old.

David Moyes I say thanks, some say piss off.

Good riddance, Mr Moyes. I'm sure the Mancs won't tolerate your snooze-inducing crap. But still, when we have Martinez in charge we will rip you to shreds at Goodison and at your gaff.

You will never change, you will always be a big game bottler no matter how much praise or money you have.

If Mr Negative goes gung ho, it will be another kick in the bollocks.

He's never done it before, so why now?

I wait with baited breath.......

Osman won't be out there boring the crap out of me for 90 minutes so maybe Barkley gets a crack and proves again that he is twice the talent. Only exciting development in this game for me.

Ross, glad to hear it, no matter what people thought of Moyes you ant argue we have not improved on the pitch during his tenure. We're we have stayed static is commercially. This is reflected on the balance sheet. Yes turnover has increased, but that is the premier league negotiating better tv rights not the club doing better.

James #122 - and there's he rub James, were all wondering how Moyes is going to approach the game when really we should be seeing if Benitez is really treating this like a job interview.....
