Defender waits on scan results
Sylvain Distin could join Kevin Mirallas and Lacina Traore on the list of players ruled out for the remainder of the season after picking up a hamstring strain.

The Frenchman had to be withdrawn at half time of the win over Manchester United on Sunday and is awaiting the results of tests performed at Finch Farm this week.

The fear is that, like Kevin Mirallas, who tore a muscle in his groin at the end of the same game, the 35 year-old will miss the final three matches of the campaign. He will be missing against Southampton this weekend regardless but Phil Jagielka will not be rushed back to fill the vacancy.

Roberto Martinez confirmed today that Jagielka will be eased back and that Saturday's trip to the south coast will be too soon for him. He has a chance of being involved against Manchester City next weekend.

Martinez also suggested that Traore won't play again for Everton this season but reiterated his desire to discuss with Monaco the possibility of another loan for the Ivorian striker next season.
