Everton triumph in 1984 FA Cup Final

On this day 30 years ago, Everton landed the trophy that kickstarted the 1980s golden era under Howard Kendall.

Thanks to goals by Graeme Sharp and Andy Gray, the Blues beat Watford 2-0 at Wembley to erase the bitter memories of defeat in the Milk Cup Final the previous month and begin a spell when the old Twin Towers were like a second home for the remainder of the decade.

Though Everton would unsuccessfully contest the FA Cup Final in each of the next two seasons, Kendall led his team to the League title and the European Cup Winners' Cup the following season and another Championship in 1987.
