U18s draw with Leeds United

Everton Under-18s completed 2-2 draw at Leeds United on Thursday afternoon.

The hosts took the lead on 20 minutes when a clumsy challenge in the area resulted in a well-taken penalty.

The Blues recovered and, following a few changes in the second half, found themselves level through Calum Dyson. Nathan Holland created the opening in drifting in from the wide left and surging past defenders. His shot was saved by the goalkeeper but striker Dyson was on hand to finish.

Chances came soon after for Delial Brewster and Dyson again, but it would be Leeds to find the net next. With five minutes to go, slack defending allowed a low shot to find its way home and leave Everton facing their first defeat of pre-season.

But the impressive Holland picked up the ball in the closing stages, dribbling beyond his markers and fired a right-foot shot low into the bottom corner.

Everton U18s: Hewelt; Yates (70' Charsley), Yarney, Mellen (80' Graham), Myers; Connolly, Davies (55' Dyson), Bainbridge; Broadhead (70' Birch), Newell (75' Brewster), Kinsella (60' Holland).

Brewster getting another run out here, some half-decent comments made about him last week.... You never know... maybe one to watch!
