My thoughts on the "Martinez – in or out?" debate are unfortunately rather coloured by the fact that in Moyes's second season we ended 4th from bottom!

Our previous manager did turn it around. I do think that our present incumbent is not as defensive-minded; however, he does burble on about his "philosophy" but does not pay heed to it in practise!! We have a centre-forward of somewhat doubtful talent, but at 22, could still come good. So let us play wings and crosses – not tip-tap in our own half, lauding the amount of possession we have achieved, yet still get beat!
