Sky Sports have ranked English clubs according to their average League position over the last 50 years and, mirroring their place in the list of title winners, Everton are in 4th place.

Helped by their ever-present status in the top flight and their periodic success, the Blues have an average finish of 8.8 in that time period, behind historical peers Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool.

Happy to see our boys up there but can someone tell me why the Spurs and Liverpool crests are highlighted/emphasized and ours is nowhere to be seen??

LFC okay, because they're top but there is no reason on earth that the Spurs crest should be given extra emphasis. Media darlings. Absolutely cannot stand them. Glorified cup team.

I wonder how long it took the RS-loving Sky Sports to compile everything they could find to make sure LFC came out on top. Good to see the lads up there though.
Agree Nicky, where is our crest?

I would be more concerned that Stoke's and Southampton's crests are there ahead of ours...

Not bad for such an apparent "small club"...

When do we get the next installment of how Liverpool's new look team will line out? Thrilling stuff.

This isn't an ultimate league unless it uses data from the whole history of the top division. I expect 50 years has been chosen by the compiler because he's likely to be a redshite fan, and this way he can ignore the considerable length of time that THEY weren't in the league and we were.

No mention of your "big club" there, Jose.

Chris at 7, it pains me to say it but the RS are top of the all time list, ie, if the entire history of top flight football is one massive season. They overtook us five or six years ago.

They are ahead by only about 30 or 40 points, ie, the points difference between them and us over the last five or six seasons.

However, if my memory of looking at all this years ago serves me well, EFC had been top since the early 1950s at the latest.
