Everton Football Club and Everton in the Community are celebrating a total of five award nominations after being shortlisted in areas across the board at the 2015 Football Business Awards.

The Blues have been nominated in a handful of different areas after successful nominations for the Club and charity’s work in the following categories;

Best/Most Innovative Use of Technology. The Everton Browser allows Everton fans to earn credit when they do their shopping online. Whenever supporters purchase at a range of major online retailers, like Amazon and Curry’s, they earn credits to redeem against merchandise at evertondirect.com. The real beauty of the scheme, though, is that money is also raised for Everton in the Community. It works on phones, tablets and computers so fans can rack up credit whenever they shop online. Best Football Community Scheme. The Club’s charitable arm has been shortlisted due to the quality and reach of its various programmes. Everton in the Community has been at the forefront of social intervention in Merseyside since 1988 and delivers 60 social projects to tackling the issues prevalent on the streets of its local communities.

Best Football Club Hospitality. Over the 2014/15 season Everton recorded matchday hospitality sell-outs for all 19 Premier League home fixtures. The Blues also recorded an average of 75 extra hospitality sales for seven fixtures at the Hilton Hotel, Liverpool, generating an uplift in revenue of £10,000 for the Corporate Sales team. The membership sales for the season also saw an increase of over 25 percent on the previous season, 55 over the original target.

Best Fan Engagement by Club. As part of the Club’s Away Fan Initiative for the 2014/15 season the Club created the concept of an Everton Road Trip, which offered a unique away day experience for groups of loyal Evertonians travelling to selected fixtures, dubbed Blues on Tour. The campaign enabled the Club to engage with over 5,000 supporters with each reaping the benefits of free coach travel, free breakfasts, entry to exclusive events and several Blues On Tour giveaways.

Best Match Day Experience. To improve the matchday experience at Goodison Park, a Fan Zone re-vamp, extra entertainment and various activities were promised to fans along with a number of themed games including Retro Day and Junior Fans Day. The results saw the Club’s average attendance at home games raise to 38,400 the highest it has been for 11 years. The Toffees were also voted first or second in 15 of the 34 areas surveyed in matchday experience in the Premier League Fan Survey.

As previous winners at the prestigious event, Everton and its official charity, Everton in the Community, are hopeful that the hard work throughout the Club will pay off.

Now in its fourth year, the Football Business Awards celebrates excellence and acknowledges the unsung heroes working tirelessly behind the scenes to shape the football industry.

The awards recognise the essential role that business plays in football, the positive impact of football on the community and the vital role played by the businesses which serve the game.

A panel of 32 judges will face the difficult task of determining the winners from the shortlists, with the Blues up against tough competition from a number of other Premier League rivals such as Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.

The black tie event will take place at Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge on Thursday 5 November.
