U18s fall to a second defeat

The Young Blues fell to a 3-1 defeat to reigning U18 Premier League Champions Manchester City at Finch Farm this morning... their second in as many games of the new season.

City took the lead 10 minutes into the second half when Joe Hardy struck and then took an unassailable advantage through Ian Carlo Poveda-Ocampo and Jadon Sancho.

Fraser Hornby drove home a consolation goal off a corner in injury time for Everton.

Everton U18s: Renshaw, Duke-McKenna, Harrington, Ouzounidis, Lees, Scully (69' Virtanen), Withe (59' Mampala), Denny, Lavery, Bramall, Hornby.
Subs not Used: Pierce, Moore, John.

The last note we have is from a U18 game last April, when he was forced off with an injury.

I see a Withe; any relation to the Speke Withe's Jerry and Peter (Villa) who used to sell programs on the Gas Show Room corner on County Rd before the game.
