Everton quartet called up for World Cup qualifying

The first international break of the new season rolls around in the first week of September and four Blues players have received the call so far from their countries.

Ashley Williams is expected to lead his country out in Cardiff against Moldova in their first qualifying game on the road to Russia 2018.

Meanwhile, Seamus Coleman, James McCarthy and Aiden McGeady — the winger remains on Everton's books for now but may have moved on by the end of the transfer window — have been included in the Republic of Ireland squad that will play Oman in a friendly and then take on Serbia in a qualifier.

Darron Gibson, who was overlooked for Euro2016 by Martin O'Neill, possibly because of his record with injuries, misses out again for the Irish.

At U19 level, Tom Davies, Antony Evans and Nathan Holland have been called up to the England squad.

I wish them victories across board and injury-free duels.

Amazing Martin O'Neill picks McGeady but not Gibson. I wonder had they a falling out as Gibson is from the same part of Ireland and O'Neill. Gibson came on as a sub the other night. McGeady doesn't even have a squad number.
