David Unsworth watched on from the stands as Everton Under-23s played out a goalless draw against Derby County in their penultimate Premier League International Cup group fixture on Tuesday night.

Having returned to the setup after a spell in charge as caretaker manager of the Everton first team, the boss of the young Blues was at Pride Park, with his assistant John Ebbrell and coach Franny Jeffers in the dugout as the U23s took on a Derby side they had beaten 1-0 in Premier League 2 back in September.

Everton dominated the play with Henen, Sambou and Evans posing a threat but they could not break the deadlock.

Everton U23s: Hilton, Evans, Garbutt, Markelo, Gibson, Foulds, Bowler (46' Donkor), Walsh, Sambou (81' Mathis), Adeniran, Henen.
Subs not Used: Renshaw, Iversen, Mampala.
