U18s start New Year with a win

Everton U18s have beaten Derby County 2-1 at their training ground after prolific pair Anthony Gordon and Manasse Mampala both picked up where they left off in 2017 to give them a 2-0 half-time lead.

The hosts halved the deficit 5 minutes after the break, but Everton battened down the hatches to resist a Derby onslaught and secure a fifth successive Under-18 Premier League victory.

Everton U18s: Johnson; Moore, Duke-McKenna, Collins, Richards; Denny, Scully; Adedoyin, Gordon, Iversen, Mampala.
Subs: Murphy, Simms, McKeown, Zuk, Kerr.
