Each month during the 1997-98 season, the faithful fans on Toffeenet vote for their Everton Player of the Month, whether they deserve it or not.  The results are compiled expertly by Nicholas Gard.  Since the majority of voters probably don't even get to watch many games, the results may be viewed with a full dose of disdain and skepticism. But these are they so far this season:

DUNCAN FERGUSON -- Everton Player of the Year, 1998
 
A typically sparse response to The Toffeenet Everton Player of the Month vote for March, as number of votes is always inversely proportional to the number of points accumulated in a given month.

Anyway, a long overdue tip of the hat to our newest player of the month, Michael Ball (although my guess is we'll be seeing his name near the top again when I run player of the year voting at the season's close).

CRAIG SHORT -- Everton Player of the Month -- November 1997  
 
The response was quite high for the Toffeenet Everton Player of the Month voting, despite the lack of quality to chose from.  Not surprisingly, the three players who, according to match reports, showed the most consistent effort during the 0 for 5 month ended up on the majority of the ballots, and we have ended up with another first-time winner.  Could this be the last appearance on the POTM standings for some of these players?

Danny CadamarteriFor the first time in the two years I have been running the Toffeenet Everton Player of the Month contest, we have had a back-to-back winner.  Once again the Squid has outpaced the rest of the pack by a wide margin.  For the third month in a row this year, Johninho finishes in the runner-up position, which must say something about his consistency.  Thanks toall 40 people who took the time to vote.

Slaven BilicResults for the August edition of the Toffeenet Everton Player of the Month are in, but you've probably already guessed the winner. 

In a landslide, it was class act, Slaven Bilic, who has bought some much-needed quality to the Everton back-line.
