The Champions League final takes place this weekend with PSG vs Inter Milan in Munich.

Both sides are one win away from being crowned European champions for the 2024/25 campaign. PSG are pursuing their first Champions League title, though it’s familiar territory for head coach Luis Enrique. He led Barcelona to this prize a decade ago.

Inter Milan are three-time winners previously and have reached the final for the second time in three seasons. The Italians are aiming to atone for their 2023 defeat to Manchester City.

First goalscorer

Lautaro Martinez has had a fine Champions League campaign for Inter despite his lowest league return since 2018/19.

The Argentina international has scored nine times in this season’s competition, including a hat-trick against AS Monaco in the league phase. Martinez scored one of the goals of the season in the quarter-final win over Bayern Munich.

Marcus Thuram outscored his captain in Serie A this season and offers a value selection.

For PSG, there’s no shortage of attacking talent. Ousmane Dembele’s superb season has seen the Frenchman score 33 times in all competitions to emerge as the Ballon d’Or favourite.

Cards

Of the finalists, no player has received more yellow cards in this season’s competition than PSG left-back Nuno Mendes. Inter wing-back Denzel Dumfries averages more fouls per game (1.7) than any finalist, while PSG’s Joao Neves tops the stats for tackles per 90 (3.6).

Inter have received the second-highest number of cards (29) in this season’s knockout rounds.

Both Teams to Score (BTTS)

Given the attacking talent on show, a Both Teams to Score bet could bring value. PSG rank second for shots per game (18.6) in the knockout rounds. That said, Inter are one of Europe’s best defensive teams and conceded just once in eight league phase games. 54% of their goals conceded in this season’s Champions League came in the semi-final win over Barcelona.

Punters should also be warned that none of the last six Champions League finals have seen both teams score. Four of the last five finals have ended 1-0.
