On a recent thread, someone mentioned a 1966 record commemorating the Merseyside Double of the two Merseyside clubs bringing home the big domestic trophies. The song was set to the Beach Boys' tune 'Barbara Ann'.

I have an original 45-rpm vinyl copy of said song, which I lent to a West Ham fan who was the Head of Music at the south coast comprehensive school where I was teaching Maths.

His room was vertically above mine and on odd occasions at the end of a lesson, I would hear it blasting out. Dick, the Hammer, would "inflict" it on classes that got up his nose as a better punishment by keeping them in after the bell and in their own break time.
