If they baulk I'd bite the bullet and bring him back.
Can't be having our eyes wiped by these clubs wanting players on the cheap.
6 Posted 02/07/2021 at 10:04:06
As Brian above says, a loan deal will only be palatable if there is a contractual obligation to buy next summer at a pre agreed fee.

Can see why PSG aren't pushing the boat out for him
9 Posted 02/07/2021 at 10:43:23
Hope I'm wrong, but I haven't seen enough to convince me, he can play a role here.

PSG cant be strapped for cash can they? Let them pay our asking price now, not what they judge it should be with another 12 months of his contract up in smoke (as far as we are concerned).
13 Posted 02/07/2021 at 13:27:15
Tell Kean, PSG and Kean's agent we expect him to play for Everton unless our value is meet: £50M and a percentage of any future transfer fee.
Just for once, Everton, act like a big club in the transfer market...
14 Posted 02/07/2021 at 14:04:35
PSG with all their money think they can push their so-called inferiors around like this. They only want him as backup to Neymar, Mbappe and Icardi and to give them a rest in a poor league by playing against weak first division teams!
15 Posted 02/07/2021 at 14:05:52
Scoring for PSG in the French League might impress Evertonians but cuts no ice with hard-nosed elite clubs, therefore we should take the hit and cash in for what we can. He clearly doesn't want to set foot in this place again.
£20-30M would have him off the books in no time.
16 Posted 02/07/2021 at 14:21:49
Keeping him takes one item off our shopping list for this summer. Tell PSG it's either buy or bye-bye.
17 Posted 02/07/2021 at 14:55:30
Keep him and let's see.

If Kean wants out then he should just come out and say it
We dont have to pay anything to him and he goes ONLY for top dollar
Please Everton no more “Mr Nice Guy”

2) Another loan with 30M+ option to purchase. If no option to purchase:
3) Bring him back as cover for DCL.
No loan with no potential purchase provision.
22 Posted 02/07/2021 at 16:12:32
Another on my list of fourteen that I want gone.
Whatever the fans want, the club will do the opposite...sigh.

25 Posted 02/07/2021 at 18:22:29
However if they want any purchase clause it shouldn't be just an option, it should be a certainty. Cheeky bastards.
26 Posted 02/07/2021 at 18:24:26
He couldn't do it under "I'll say what you want to hear" Carlo so Benitez and his notorious "my way or the highway" style is unlikely to work.
Get what we can before it goes entirely tits up

Everton want £45 million.
PSG are instead pushing for a loan, with an option to buy for £30 million at the end of the season - so £15 million less than we want now. And if he gets injured, or flops or anything else, we're stuck with him. If he flourishes and becomes one of Europe's top marksmen, we get hardly anything.
Tell Kean that, if he wants to go there, they should value him enough to pay a fee for him.
31 Posted 03/07/2021 at 09:22:48
He may well get him to contribute for us, which would save us a fortune and we can invest elsewhere – loads of positions need investment. Right-back and attacking midfield to name two immediately.
Coleman can only be backup and the likes of Iwobi need shifting.

33 Posted 03/07/2021 at 09:44:36
Better if we receive a little bit less money and still a good profit to quickly fund bringing in the right players for the right positions - we'll earn the money back and more in terms of entertainment, improved finishing positions, new player valuations may rise too (like Godfrey whose easily gone from £20 million to be worth £50 million).

35 Posted 04/07/2021 at 10:24:55
One reason I would have marginally preferred Nuno Santo to Benitez is there are so many good young Portuguese players coming through currently.
36 Posted 04/07/2021 at 20:57:49
Simple point, we can not rely, no, in fact its better to presume he's not going to be available forever the season.
Bring in better replacements now, ASAP. Come on Brands, what else have you been doing since January?
Gbamin, Delph, Mina, James, Bernard have all suffered medium to long term reoccurring injuries. With a small, average squad already, we need better, not cover, but much, much better first team starters.
37 Posted 05/07/2021 at 22:10:55
If they wont meet the price someone else will or we bring him back and bench him.
Sorry Moise, we cant risk playing you and reducing your value.

41 Posted 06/07/2021 at 11:13:04
My understanding is that a club paying £40m for a player never pay in one lump sum but pay in installments over the course of the contract.
So I think talk of getting a £40m wad in a oner is wide of the mark.

I thought that might have been somewhere Barkley could have ended up, including Celtic, but guess there'd be a wage issue there.
44 Posted 06/07/2021 at 12:08:33
Maybe we should change our name to Axminster F.C. everyone seems to walk all over us.
Slightly off but Leicester have signed Patson Daka,
who ? 22yrs. old Played for Salzburg Red Bulls he scored 34 goals in 42 appearances. They also signed22 year ols Boub. Soumare , midfielder who played for Lille's winning team. Clubs are doing business. Negotiations will have been going on for a while. Other clubs are moving, the new boss should have a good idea about the players he's got.
I hope Rafa has been using his time away from club football to be checking out young players on the continent and Marcel too.
It's behoped that they're not thinking like an old violin they'll put some new resin on the strings and get a better tune out of them.
45 Posted 06/07/2021 at 12:20:47
46 Posted 06/07/2021 at 12:50:10
It's another case of Leicester going for young players who look a good fit for Champions League football. Seems an eminently sensible approach - since you're unlikely to make the top 4 with players who wouldn't be at home in the Champions League. Modest fees too, for the pair of them.
Notice they didn't go for the likes of Ings or Ward-Prowse - which would have set them back at least twice as much for players with less gas in the tank and lower ceilings.
As for Moise Kean, I think the simple fact is he just does not want to be here. And he won't dislodge DCL in order to get the games he needs to settle in. So it's best he departs. The fee will depend on whether anyone other than PSG is in for him, which is possibly unlikely with most clubs tightening belts post covid.

49 Posted 06/07/2021 at 13:32:27
The trouble is if there's only one realistic taker for Kean then we're not well placed to make demands. The theory is certainly good though.
50 Posted 06/07/2021 at 16:27:15
About time we stood up and said pay up or return the player, they have had him already on loan, only takes an injury, then he ends up coming back to Everton, where we then end up treating his injury.
We either need to get cash for the player, or play hardball and return him to Everton.
51 Posted 06/07/2021 at 17:04:02
If there are no other interested clubs we will have to take a bit less than we want, but we need to move on and reinvest this money in our attack. Maybe Brands or Benitez likes one of their fringe players that could come this way as part of a deal, as Robert says Dagba looks a very good player.
52 Posted 06/07/2021 at 17:20:26
It seems to me that a lad playing FIFA 21 would have a better knowledge of young up-and-coming European talent than our lot.
53 Posted 06/07/2021 at 23:35:46
Galtier had great assistance from his chief scout. It was he who unearthed many of the good young, cheap players for Lille.
I posted on another thread that Marcel, now he is on the board, might not be spending too much time standing on an icy terrace, seeking out a hidden gem. Lille's ex-scout is Luis Campos, he could probably sniff out truffles in the Sahara. Check him out.
Last week, he was reportedly having talks with Arsenal. He is someone we should be trying to bring to Goodison Park. Others are obviously aware of his talents and he's probably got a little black book full of names.
54 Posted 09/07/2021 at 17:27:26
Either they buy him or he can play for us until somebody does.
If he has improved that much, then I would rather have him here than scoring for them on loan.
