It’s about time this shameful record was put to bed,it’s absolutely embarrassing that we choke virtually every time we play the RS, they are very beatable at home having lost their last 3 home PL games, please be brave on the ball and test their makeshift centre half pairing, sounds like Dom and Allan are fit so come on Blues please give us a long overdue victory COYBs UTFT!!!

Super Kev - what a gent to boot.

"he (Gerrard) was a young lad and had made a bad challenge, but we ended up winning. I didn’t feel it, especially after a couple of beers.” - old school.

Really enjoyed this, thanks so much for posting it! Those days were as awful as they were incredible. Sometimes I despair as our current side tries to challenge for Europe etc, as it’s the hope that kills you!

Haven’t got a clue which way this will go. I will say one thing, I completely agree with Lyndon that JP should be left out, there’s just too much volatility around the situation we don’t need. And, to be honest, I don’t see his form to be in any better state than Olsen’s

Kev is great. He had ongoing injury issues but when fit he was very consistent for us even as he got older. he has torn loyalties because he also holds Arsenal dear to his heart but he is one guy who I can forgive for the old half/half scarves as his dedication to Everton is very clear. As Peter Gorman points out, he is also a very nice bloke

Kieran. Plus he almost single handedly kept us in this division. I told him when I met him in the Winslow he will always be my hero nearly as much as Michael Thomas. He liked that one.

This is a bit of an afterthought but 3 months after the 1999 Anfield derby, Kevin's son Tyrese was born.

He is now a striker for Stoke in the Championship, with 15 goals to boot.

That's how long we've been waiting, Kev.

If he is half as good as his dad, he has got a chance. That is both in ability and strength of character.

Honorary Scouser.

Fuckin' Watson! That's brilliant, I'm using that one on an enemy in the future.
