Bobby seemed to be a very good player and certainly a favourite with the crowd, a bit of a Duncan McKenzie.

What a brilliant letter by an Everton fan “Castleraven” expressing his disgust at Everton letting him go, always had a bit of class us Everton fans.

Thanks for another great article on an old Everton player, Bobby.

Brilliant article, Rob. I never new Bobby came from the Low Road; my brother-in-law's family have lived there for generations.

I agree, Dave, about the letter to the Echo. You don't get that quality today!! Totally different intellectual propensities.

Rob, might I take the liberty of expressing my deep appreciation of this fine article, a work of adroit penmanship.

A cracking piece about a player whose name and career was a significant part of the club’s story in the forgotten years after WW1 and before Dean and Lawton came along.

The letter is brilliant…’Might I take the liberty of expressing condemnatory remarks…’! Angry but polite!

Brilliant article Rob, and what a great footballing story.

Thats given me some additional hope for Everton for the rest of this season, amidst the current challenges on and off the park.
