Cannon, Warrington, Hughes.Subs: Whittaker, Barrett, Mills, Campbell KouatOne player missing from the team, be back in a jiffy, just phoning my reliable source!! Tony Abrahams 3 Posted 06/12/2021 at 18:49:34 He looks like hes dropped down the pecking order little Charlie Whitaker, but its a long season, and hopefully hes going to be a bit fresher for the FA Youth cup campaign. Dave Abrahams 4 Posted 06/12/2021 at 18:49:44 Ryan Astley is the missing man, centre half and captain. Just getting ready to go to Goodison, checking my loudspeaker to use from the Upper Bullens, any suggestions, no swearing, there is a lady, I think!! Who sits behind me. Dave Abrahams 5 Posted 06/12/2021 at 18:53:41 Tony (3), Tony try standing outside in the correct place so I can pick my great grandson up after the game, not like after theDerby game!! Phill Thompson 6 Posted 06/12/2021 at 19:33:18 Tony #3 re Whitaker, he may have been injured and coming back, hence he has 70 mins with U18s on Saturday. I'd expect him to play in the FA Youth Cup on Friday, so you'd think he'd get some more minutes tonight. Phill Thompson 7 Posted 06/12/2021 at 20:42:05 Tom Cannon scores for the Everton U23's 1-0 80 mins Phill Thompson 8 Posted 06/12/2021 at 21:00:10 Everton 2-0 final score. Dave Abrahams 9 Posted 07/12/2021 at 00:36:36 Elijah Campbell got the second goal in the 90 th minute. Sam Hoare 10 Posted 07/12/2021 at 11:49:44 A good night! Didn't watch any of it but good to hear that Kouyate came on and scored, he's only just 18 so another young player making an impact at the u23 level. If the first team continues to play 433 (which I think they should) I wonder if Onyango will get an opportunity over the xmas period when we inevitably will lose some players to overuse and injury as our depth is so alarmingly poor. Or even Warrington, who has often impressed me. Phill Thompson 11 Posted 07/12/2021 at 14:02:56 Its been quite a while since the u18/ U23s/ 1st team won together, long may it continue!Even allowing for Unsworths usual hyperbole, “ best of season, etc”, this was indeed a fine win against an Arsenal side that could have gone second in PL2 if they had won. Though in fairness to Unsworth hes made some interesting comments on Cannon and Kouyate. Katia Kouyate had a big impact when he came on “ Substitute Kouyate, who laid on Everton's opener, then made the points safe when he slotted home in stoppage time.” It seems Kouyate is not fully fit yet, so itll be an interesting selection choice for the Youth Cup from our young attackers playing u18 and U23 -Kouyate, Whitaker, Mills, the two schoolboys Martin Sherif and Emilio Lawrence plus Francis Okoronkwo also in the mix as he comes back from injury. Then theres competition in midfield with the likes of Price, Butterfield and u18 Jenson Metcalfe. Throw in 5 defenders going for 4 defensive positions in Mallon at right back, Welch, Campbell, Tierney as centre backs, schoolboy Ishe Samuels- Smith looking promising at left back, or maybe Campbell there. The selection for this Fridays Youth Cup match will be a good indication of just whom the coaches rate in the various positions. Tony Hill 12 Posted 07/12/2021 at 21:51:09 Two more goals for Broadhead tonight. That fella Gooch at Sunderland still looks interesting to me.
