Season › 2021-22 › News New contract for Academy keeper, Jack Barrett Michael Kenrick , 30 June, 2022 0comments | Jump to most recent Academy goalkeeper Jack Barrett has signed a new 1-year contract until the end of June 2023.The 20-year-old joined the Club’s Academy at 9 years old and has worked his way up through the age groups. He spent the first half of last season on the subs bench for the Under-23s, making just two Premier League 2 appearances, but he did not figure at all during the entire second half of the season. Barrett is hoping for more starts for the new Under-21s in 2022-23 in competition with a talented pool of young goalkeepers which includes Harry Tyrer, Billy Crellin and Zan-Luk Leban.“I'm very proud," Barrett told evertonfc.com. "It's a big moment for me and my family. I've been at the Club for a long time now and it's a great feeling to be staying for another year."It means a lot, especially as an Evertonian myself."There's a good group of goalkeepers in the Under-21s but I just want to train hard and play as many games as possible."I'm also looking forward to working with [new Under-21s Head Coach] Paul Tait again. I did my scholarship under him and I really enjoyed working with him."There's always a good atmosphere amongst the lads working with him. He likes to have that positive environment - and he likes to play good football as well." About these ads
