Released from Everton Academy when 15/16... so I don't think he made it to the Under-18s. Contemporary of Jack Rodwell. I vaguely remember him having a good moment in that horrific Moyes exhibition against Wigan at Goodison Park in the FA Cup 7 years ago...

Funny – actually scary – looking at the team Martinez put out that day, with Joel Robles in goal, James McCarthy in midfield, and Arouna Kone upfront. That was for Wigan, who were soon to be relegated.

Yet we thought that summer it would be a good idea to not only pinch their manager, presumably on the basis of this one game. but to allow him to bring in three of the players who helped him get Wigan relegated!!!

Is it any wonder
