  • Branthwaite would be wise to go nowhere near two fallen empires in Chelsea and Manchester United. You might think Everton is a club on choppy waters but those two are completely gone as far as winning big trophies are concerned or competitive at Champions League level. A better move would be to Real Madrid I agree, La Liga would be his oyster and I'm sure he'd be perfect there. That said I don't want him being sold this summer in any way for any fee under £80 million. I'd rather we try and move Onana on for £50 million or whatever is quoted on him, he's far more replaceable for the job he actually performs. ...

  • My Dad, God rest his soul, warned me about them when I was twelve. I was reading the Saturday night Echo and the article about them being promoted. I asked my dad who are they? (he had been protecting me from any knowledge and contact with them up until that time, like the good father he was). His response - "they are the scabbyheads, don't worry about them son". Now he used to listen to the away games on something called a crystal set when he was a boy so it seems to me despising them is not a new phenomenom, it goes back a long long way. ...

  • Ed #171Ed, I do have the academic, Professional Education and experience, on going, well tested by trial and error, and with something probably undiagnosed. But I do recognise the importance of any opinion put forward open to discussion and debate which always contributes It is put forward by whatever motivates that individual which is a whole spectrum of what occurs to them in their life It contributes to a collective consciousness. The bases of which is alot of cases is humility or as TS Elliot put it 'to live is to learn'.Humility is to die to ones ego Thankfully amongst Evertonians it appears in droves. It is the most important human trait a person can have. Noone inside or outside the Everton debate is immune to that, no matter how much they think they are. It is what is keeping Everton going....

  • They are not innocent in provoking the divide. If anything they have antagonised it. I've mentioned the vile experienced walking along Priory Road past the coaches. I've mentioned being sat in their Main Stand and celebrating an Everton goal to be advised that I should support my city. I don't swear a lot and no disrespect to our Irish supporters, but the irony of him being Irish made me smile. Cheeky bastard@!! Being goaded outside Wembley after the semi-final. I could go on. I respect older generations' recollection, but they have evolved into a horrible entitled bunch who remember what they want to remember and ignore what they don't. Default setting if you bring it up is that your are just bitter. Everty single one of them...
