Floodgates Now Open
How many of you honestly expected to get something from our game at Villa Park yesterday? I know I never. In fact the outcome of the Villa game was obvious on Thursday night. We are piss poor in all departments. For the first time in living memory I was totally disinterested in an Everton game. We are now that shite to watch and so predictable that the result at Villa was never in doubt so I just didn't bother. Not even a flick of the teletext button.After 6 years in charge at Everton David Moyes is running out of gas and the fans out of patience. The Moyes game plan consists only of... "Get out there and see what happens lads." We now conceed goals in every game and very rarely score from open play. It's soul-destroying to watch and I just dont see how anyone backs Moyes any longer.
Liverpool sacked Houllier after 3 years and he won about 7 trophies. Chelsea have given Mourihnio the bullet for playing negative football and he has won League titles and FA Cups in his short time there. So why do we Everton supporters have to put up with this crap we are seeing now? Why are we so easily pleased? I just don't get it.
A few seasons back we were sliding down the league table and being embarrased in cup competitions by the likes of Shrewsbury and later on the Romanian waiters of Bucharest. It's still going on now yet many of you consider us to be progressing nicely. Moyes has stabilized the club you say. Well, thanks for that, Davey, but I think even Moyes must realise that his number's up. He has been sussed out and time after time it's the poor sods who travel around the country watching this tripe who suffer most.
Only a fool would back Everton to win at Sheffield Wednesday this week and they are a poor Championship side so what does that say about Moyes's Everton? I have never seen a more gutless and lightwieght bunch of players in the Royal Blue jersey in all my life and it all stems from Moyes. What ever he is doing and saying during training in the week just isn't working. Does Moyes really coach the players to whack the ball down channels and run after it? If so then he should have no place at Everton Football Club.
I want more than this up-and-under style of play. I want to see our players standing up and being counted when they take to the field. I want to see pace, power, aggression and a decent standard of football. What I dont want to see is our players being brushed aside like schoolboys who have gotten in the way of the bigger kids out on the playground. I don't want to see scrawny midgets running around like headless chickens while a bulging-eyed Jock screams and shouts at them for 90 minutes (god only knows what Moyes is screaming).
If something is not done soon then we can kiss this season goodbye by Christmas. If Kenwright does offer Moyes another 5 years at the club then that will be it for me. I can't soldier on any more knowing we have a fraud as our manager. A dull dreary and inept fraud at that. Moyes has to go and if he was any kind of a man he would do us a favour and admit the job's too big for him. Don't be fooled into thinking there is no-one else to take the job. There would be plenty of takers and to be honest I don't think anyone can do any worse than Moyes is doing right now.
If Moyes stays Everton FC will just stagnate and fester away in an ocean of mediocrity. Is that all you want from your team? ? survival every year. FFS we are Everton FC not Charlton, Watford or some other Mickey Mouse outfit. Change the manager and the way we play or change the club motto. Nil Satis is leaving a bad taste in the mouth these days.

I fully agree that the last week has been a shocking indictment of Moyes’ failings.
However, had you watched some of the match you’d have realised that actually Everton abandoned the long-ball game for large portions of the game. The problem was the lack of penetration which has been a far more telling Achilles heel.
Let’s not forget however that Everton were sitting on a good start to the season just 9 days ago before the United match. 5 games played, 10 points in the bag, and all was looking rosy with a reasonable goal-scoring record to boot.
Whilst I will join you in January in calling for Moyes head if this malaise which has settled on the team continues, at least give him the chance to field the team he’s built for this season. A team that includes Cahill, Gravesen and Arteta and then see whether he can produce attacking football when he’s finally got the players to do it in all departments of the team. The last week he’s been seriously struggling to put out an attacking team irrespective of what he wants. If Carsley, Jagielka and Neville are your only fit central midfielders you WILL struggle to create chances. Nothing can be gained by sacking the manager now, let the man either prove you conclusively wrong or right. At the moment it’s going your way and I’m following your opinion but three games, no matter how bad, do not make a season, especially one where 3 of the remaining 5 would tell a completely different story.

I agree,we play like a sunday pub side.How can we expect our forwards to score when we play without a single creative central midfield player inthe current side.Why does Andy Johson have to chase hopeless balls into the corners only to look up to find the troops no where in site to support.Hopefully when tommy,mikky and tim are back we may be able to play the ball on the floor.Why wont he try Mikky in a central role.

I think all evertonians are beginning to think along the same lines but I have to take exception to the comment of never having seen a more gutless and lightweight bunch of players in the royal blue - since the late eighties we have been served a pretty consistent diet of shite players whereas most people consider this to be our best squad of players since Kendall Mark One.

First id like to say, im sick of fellow Evertonians slagging of the team and manager!! We are in this together through whatever is thrown at us! Moyes has done nothing wrong. OK he HAS made mistakes, SO WHAT!! He IS the best manager we have had for years. I watched the Villa game. We passed well BUT defended like kids. I believe Hibbert is not good enough and he made more mistakes than I can remember. Everton always seem to have a scape goat every season. THIS season we have 2. Moyes and Hibbo. How fickle some of you are!! This Is the manager who got us 4th and 6th!! And in europe twice!! And if he was as bad a manager as you say then there is no way we would have done so. If you want to keep on slagging our beloved team and Davie Moyes then SHAME ON YOU!!! Get behind the team NO MATTER WHAT!!! through thick and thin. Yes he has definitely steadied the ship and we aren’t perennial relegation strugglers but I just don’t think he has it in himself to step up to the next level I am afraid.

Moyes has to be given credit for everything he’s done for the club. I agree the team are infuriating to watch sometimes but we are definitely heading in the right direction. Moyes has brought stability to the club and is now bringing us forward to a higher level. To start calling for his head after a few poor performances is riculous. I wish people would stop being so negative and get behind the lads, that’s what being an Evertonian is all about.

6 years ago we were on the skids to the championship and because of our debts we struggled to do anything about it. Over time Moyes has lifted us to 4th & 6th in 2 of the last 3 seasons. He still makes mistakes but the underlying trend both on and off the pitch is upward. Despite what Tony Marsh says the players, chiefly Andy Johnson, cost us a result against Kharkiv, not Moyes.(My only criticism was bringing on Jagielka for Carsley, he should have used an attacker). You’re too quick to be hyper critical-but it’s easy to be critical. You should get real and accept we were in such dire straits when Moyes came most realists knew it would take a very long time to get back into the top group of teams. We’re progressing in that direction and although I was as fed up as you obviously were last Thursday I don’t think it justifies such an aggressive doom and gloom attitude so soon into the season.

Well Tony I think we’ve been on the same page for years now and I agree with all you said. I too am completely demoralised and disinterested at the moment and they’ve been a big love of my life for over 35 years now! I know I may get slagged, but I actually hope we lose in the Ukraine. The first reason is that the affect on our league form/status worries me, secondly I can’t stand the prospect of future humiliations by any half decent Euro team, and thirdly it may hasten the inevitable departure of this fucking joke of a manager of ours. Until he goes there’s nothing but shit football and a miserable future to look forward too.

I’ve must, with a heavy heart, agree with Mr. Marsh: I expected a defeat and a poor performance, hoping i’d be proved completely wrong come 4 pm on Sunday. Proof is that I predicted we’d lose 2-0 on a betting site, and that was my consolation for the defeat. I’d far rather my prediction was totally incorrect and I lost my winnings if it meant Everton got 3 points, but not to be.

Im from the forum. Its a place where we all gather to discuss the merits and deficiecies of the team. We have a laugh, we vent our frustrations, and we all add bits of information that make up the whole group. We log on religeously to see if anyones got something new to say, if theres any new developments, and during transfer season it can be as exiting as the matches themselves.

Your every atom lines up its own very neuclei and sets it to self destruct. If you ever played football, youd be the guy with all the answers, but cant kick a ball to save his life. If you were a world leader, mate youd be George Bush Jr. So loud, and so offensive, youd take control rather than win it fairly.

Moyes has to go and if he was any kind of a man he would do us a favour and admit the job’s too big for him. Don’t be fooled into thinking there is no-one else to take the job. There would be plenty of takers and to be honest I don’t think anyone can do any worse than Moyes is doing right now.

The wry wit and intellectual ramblings of a faux learned scholar to belittle someone’s opinion in some psuedo Oscar Wilde wannabe persona has to be the worst comeback I have ever seen levelled against Tony Marsh, the ridicule I say sir is on you.
What I admire most about Tony is his consistency. Last season when our excellent start petered out after a few games, he was predicting a downward spiral towards relegation and we finished sixth! Keep calling "WOLF" Tony & you may even be right someday but by then (or even by now?) everyone will have stopped listening.
