Watching Footy Online: A Guide

There seem to be a lot of people who want to know how to watch the beautiful game (and Everton) online. This page provides some links and should be enough to get you started. The general approach is: download and install a special application software package, then join an online forum to get the latest links to live games.

Please note: some people have experienced issues with some of these applications on their PCs. Some anti-virus programs may treat them as malicious, but personally I've not had any issues in over 18 months of using them.

There are lots of free sites offering streaming football, not to mention other sports, but I'm going to tell you about the few that I use with varying degrees of success ? this is not an exact science as you'll find out!

Sopcast ? by far my most successful app for watching footy. Go to www.sopcast.com and download/install the small application. Now go to www.freefootball.org and go to the forums. Create a (free) login and head to the footy forum. On here its forbidden to post links to streaming footy due to certain laws & restrictions, but if you click on the moderator signatures you'll get all the links for upcoming games. Also, you can request links and have people send them to you privately through the forum. This is the best resuorce for finding working links.

TVants ? a similar application to the above, go to www.tvants-ppstream.com and follow the instructions for download/install, then head onto the freefootball forum and continue as above.

These pages are also decent places for streaming games:

Muftavideos.net is another place that sometimes has links, but its often only really any good for things like cricket. Sounds like a porn site; I assure you it isn't.

Hope this helps some of you; you will find that you have varying degrees of success with all of the above on any given day. The key is patience; free stuff is hard to come by on the Internet ? so often it's a case of getting what you're given.

Also, please don't clutter this thread up with complaints and rants about how sopcast ruined your PC etc. All of the above is to be used at your own risk, but like I said, I've not had any problems and I'm also a network engineer so do have some insight into the workings of these contraptions.

Just wondering whether anybody can find coverage of the metallist game on the net. I have looked at all the usual sites but it looks as though they aren't covering it http://livefooty.doctor-serv.com/ & http://myp2p.eu.

Great job Allan but I am afraid its over with the online footie. There is some organisation Netresult or smth like that and now its almost impossible to see any live games. Yesterday tried to catch Spurs - Villa and had to change 3 links during the game, because they were closed one after another. There is still hop with the sopcast and you have to follow the instructions on fsicrew to catch some action otherwise its only a black screen

Does anyone know if Everton TV is broadcasting the game on thursday? I saw it advertised there last week, but can see no mention of it now, and I’m getting a bit worried. I caught their transmission of the first leg and it was perfect (apart from the John Barnes commentary of course!)

Stefan - not so, as I mentioned, this is not an exact science and often links to games can drop out mid game. Some links never work, some work but buffer badly and stream slowly. Some will freeze, others will have no commentary, some will have audio only. Like I said, its very erratic and should be treated as something to use with care, and with patience.

To say that its impossible to see live games is simply not true. So far tonight, I’ve watched bits of Valencia v Chelsea, Celtic v Milan and The RS v Marseille. Currently I’m watching Lazio v Real Madrid, all on sopcast or tvants.

Just to add to the above posts. I live in New Zealand and watch all my football on the net through the www.myp2p.eu website. The two best sites I find are Sopcast and TVU. I’ve just watched Marseille beat the shite via TVU and it was a really good connection, with English commentary. At the moment, no one appears to be showing the game against the Mentalists.

All,

ukrainatv.com may carry the match. Its not listed on there as of 9:30pm (est) but check tomorrow. I believe there is a cost of around $9 USD per match. They show the Ukrainian Champions League games so I would think that they would show UEFA Cup games as well.

I’ve been using www.asiaplate.com for ages, it gives a list of the games and link to download the player, if you already have downloaded the player it automatically loads the player and the correct channel
