New Kirkby Stadium Pictures and the Echo U-turn
I want to share these artist's impressions with you:
I wonder why they never used the third one when pitching the idea? Also - does anybody else feel that the Echo are slowly doing a U-turn on that stadium? In the past fortnight we have stories on:
How 71 homes will be demolished for the new stadium whilst Scotland Road will have one commercial premises removed.
Bestway saying they are still keen on the move and their off will still exist should kirkby derail.
A piece in the Echo regarding the famous HOK report saying that a stadium would fit on the land months after it was first announced.
Finally today's renderings of how the stadium will look in the daytime with car park and shops in full view.
Also it is worth pointing out two Youtube videos regarding the new stadium:

Also, don’t just pick on the third picture, to me they all look IKEA’ish and bland - they just leave me cold.
Danny, you’re right - where’s the soul and passion - the bedrocks on which this great club was built?
Maddening and Audrey will still be besides themselves, they’re still trying trying to convince everyone its a winner, these gullible twats deserve everything they get
It started a shambles and is rapidly going downhill
cant happen, wont happen
Just makes the pain even worse.
What?s our name?
New Everton!
If you want soulless then try watching a game with 45-50k supporters in a 70,000 stadium, It feels half-empty and immediately loses any of the atmosphere.
One of the strong things about Goodison recently is that its always near capactiy. This adds to the feeling of the game. The problem with the JJB & Reebok and even the RIverside these days is they are half empty so it kills any atmosphere before you start. And it is the crowd that make the atmosphere- not the stadium!
Will Tesco pay for the corners?
If we do, we should go on line and quadruple the tesco vouchers into money off meals at some fancy restaurant. Perhaps that will pay for 50,000 fans to have some slap up grub?
I like the idea proposed on here a few weeks back about keeping the shape of Goodison with a 3 tier main stand and the criss cross pattern from the Bullens & Gladys Street.
But don’t the renderings look an awful lot like Poject Jefinner right next to the Bestways site with a stadium lumped in the back ground?
Probably not. But Mikky will be around to take them.
by far a better lookin stadium, why cant we have something like this
£50-80m you say? Pull the other one!
Price to Everton? According to Wyness kirkby will cost us at least £50m, funny how he didn’t tell us that pre-vote. Do you know how much it would cost us to get to 50k seats at our current home of over 100 years? The first purpose built football stadium in the world? The first footy stadium with a double decker? The first with 2, with 3, with 4 Double deckers? The first with a triple-decker in this country? I know your curious........ well, it would be less than £50m. No plan B Mr Wyness? You’re sitting in it! I wont even begin to put a value on the history your sitting on because £100m couldn’t buy it! So Tommy when you’re asking for the cost of this and the price of that, please make sure you know the cost of the thing which you blindly voted for. "Practically nothing" went up to £50m, now £80m+ in a few weeks, how did that happen? Have you any idea what you can build for that? What’s that saying about knowing the cost of everything and the value of nothing? It would appear you don’t even know the cost, so how can you ever begin to comment? It’s to your eternal shame and others like you that you do not even recognise the value!!!
food, glasses, flowers, even tellies all dissapeared into two little bags, all in the blink of an eye -ive never seen nothin like it!
lets hope security is just as lax when they build the fucker,as I imagine the booze aisle will be full of the YES men who think the service is better there than the empty shed outside
Sorry lads.. that’s just not MY football!
It takes performances on the pitch to create memories off it.
We should build something like the Allianz Arena in Munich. It looks awesome at night. If we are moving then we need a stadium to be proud of with nothing like it in the land.

I do agree with you that recently the Echo seems a bit more, well "balanced" regarding the various issues regarding the debate. However, I still have not forgotten how the editorial team at the Echo skimmed over alternative proposals to the Kirkby scheme by carefully positioning relatively important views on the debate in less obvious areas within the paper, when they would splash any comments from Wyness or Leahy across the front page.
That aside, my views of this new dayime impression reminds me of Boltons ground, minus the patches of greenery surrounding the reebok complex.
Just does not look or feel right at all in my opinion. It just looks soul-less.
