Conspiracy Theory...

Here's one for all you who are bored given the lack of action at present.

Now that Jacobsen has departed, what odds do I get on Joleon (sadly) leaving in a deal for cash plus Micah Richards??

Exactly the same as beforehand. Doesn’t change anything as far as I can tell. Jacobsen left because he’d get more first team chances at Blackburn. That’s it. No conspiracy, no hidden agenda.

The stumbling block with Richards coming to us would be matching the mega bucks he is now on at City.

Everyone goes on about Lescott being lured by the riches of Man City, but correct me if I’m wrong, wouldn’t we be doing the same by accepting a bid?
Now I know the money can go towards the transfer kitty, but our defence is one of the best in the Premier League, a well organized and synchronized machine, so would disrupting that be a good idea?

Haha, Adam for £20M, yeah! Don't get me wrong, Lescott is good, but to get £20M for him would be great, to lose just one player for that amount would be good buisness to me. I?d be prepared to settle for a pairing of Yobo and Jags next season, bring in a back-up centre-back for a few mill, or get someone in on loan, even Rodwell could be used there next season as he is a natural centre-back!

That £20M, IF we got that for Lescott, plus whatever funds we already have, would help massively towards improving our squad for next season. I for one think that if we got the right quality of players in, we wouldn't miss Lescott that much.

We have to face the fact that, whilst we're not regular Champions League qualifiers and have no major investment, we might have to sell a major asset of ours now and again just to keep up with the chasing pack that are after Champions League football, just like ourselves!

I’d say that Hibbert is best kept as a squad player for right-back cover and that Jacobsen isn’t a good enough standard to replace him. I doubt Micah Richards will leave City, I think this was from a dodgy rumour a few weeks ago. There might not even be a real Man City link with Lescott at all?

I still think Jo will be the only player we should consider in a part-exchange deal.
