Moyes Fined

I See David Moyes has been fined £5000 for his outburst against Stoke, how dare he have the nerve to question a wrong decision! Seems to me the FA have done this to save face... after all, imagine the scandal if they let him of! I thought he was justified and kept within the boundries of acceptability when he spoke to the fourth official. Wonder what Fergie would have got away with.......?

Fergie?s got away with it before!! One rule for the Big 4 and one rule for the rest of them.
It was only in March that Ferguson was also fined £5000 AND given a 2 match touchline ban. He is currently shortly due to appear before the FA again. If we are going to become a club full of moaners and whingers, then let's at least cry about the facts and stop hiding behind all this big four rubbish.
If the FA wants to put another 6 inch nail in the ?respect campaign? coffin then this type of pompous petty action is the right way to go about it. What a useless bunch of fucking knobheads!
David, Will Carling famously said "Rugby was run by 57 old farts" ? well you can double that for football. Just look at Emerson Boyce?s tackle on Ameobi on Saturday. The referee actually apologised to Steve Bruce saying it was a fair tackle and Boyce shouldn?t have been booked, but he?s still banned for the game against us on Monday. How hard is it just to say "OK, it wasn?t a booking, you're not suspended"? The ref makes a mistake so let's ban the player, it defies logic. How the hell are we supposed to respect any organisation who have rules like that. I?ve e-mailed the FA and the ref association with my feelings on the DM fine and Boyce?s booking. I recommend you do likewise.
Just read that Fergie has been given a £10,000 fine and a two match touchline ban today. This big four bias has really gone too far now! Having said that I do agree with the sentiments expressed by Michael regarding the FA.
Do managers and players have it written in to contracts that they must forego their right to freedom of expression in a democracy if they want to be involved in football???? Since when do the rules of football supersede the the right to be heard and voice an opinion???? These "bringing the game into disrepute" laws are bullshite and you wonder when one of these millionaire managers will use their resources to challenge them in open court. The fat marrowbone sucking timeservers in the FA need to be taken down a peg or two.......
My heart bleeds for him. He earns (?) £5,000 before lunch each day but does that give him the right to pour foul-mouthed abuse on the fourth official who had FA to do with the ref?s decision?
I find it sinister, almost Orwellian, that the (sweet) FA somehow have the power to take somebody?s hard-earned money from them, on the trumped-up charge of them simply expressing an opinion. Five grand!! It?s absurd!! Clearly, it?s a drop in the ocean considering the wages he?s earning, but is that jusification for a fine to be sooo steep?
To demand such a ludicrous amount of money from him? This makes me regard this FA policy as little more than racketeering, almost akin to gangsterism!! No wonder they?re the wealthiest Football Association in the world ? they?re dictators who won?t hear a bad word said against the incompetent "officals" who ref the games. What if Moyes was to challenge the temerity of the FA to tax him to that degree? Do the FA have legal authority to do this? If it was me, I?d take them to Strasbourg!!!
When this was announced Moyes reacted with dignity, unlike a lot of managers, mainly the ?big 4? and the truely annoying Mark Hughes.
What was most interesting was that Howard Webb chose to announce at the same time how respectful the players and staff were in the Boro match on Sunday. The reason for this is obvious, no ?big 4? teams and their egomaniac captains.
I read that Beneath Contempt justified Bolton?s goal being chalked off against his cheating shower of divers because they had the temerity to stand in the six-yard box for a corner. My paper said that he said that FIFA outlawed this.
We are well aware that the laws of the game say (to praphrase) ?the ref can do what the fuck he likes, so up yours sunshine?, but does anyone know of a FIFA ruling on this particular subject?
The FA itself has been bringing the game into disrepute for years. Any chance they could fine and ban themselves?
He was right to get fined. Irregardless of the circumstances of the referee’s decision a manager has no right to criticise the referee’s performance during the match. It is never the right to do so. If he had felt he was wronged then he should pursue it post-match. The continued harassment of referees is hardly going to improve the quality of their refereeing. And for those who are saying that ’Fergie’ has gotten away with more, he has just been given a two match touch line ban and a 10,000 pound fine. I’d hardly call that ’big four bias’.
May be on a litte tangent, but why on earth did Drogba get 3 weeks? It is laughable. He should?ve got nothing and the fan should have been banned for life. It is ludicrous.
David, I think I remember Carragher getting the same a few seasons ago.
He should have just given it to the ref/lino and a complaint may have been taken from there, there was only ever going to be one outcome if he threw it back into the crowd.
Alan Farrell: [[ If he had felt he was wronged then he should pursue it post-match. ]]
LOL. Yes because decisions are constantly being over-turned and reversed post-match. The FA have done this to themselves because they offer no outlet, either in match via video review, or post-match at the very least reversing bans or cards. Then they act surprised when managers shout at them -- they have no option but to shout. There is no other legitimate recourse. If they could actually "pursue it post-match" it might help slightly; if they could pursue it in-match (via a video challenge) it would be even better.*
* And I don’t want to hear any bollocks about "but how would video replays work?" If you’re not smart enough to figure it out that doesn’t mean it can’t work -- every other major sport in existence has figured it out and while it may not be perfect it’s better than football.
Does anyone know what Moysie said to the fourth official..........
Ken, maybe it was a misunderstanding like with that other Scottish lad, McFadden.
Maybe he didn?t call him a fucking cheat, he actually said he was "fooking sheeet"
I had a heart attack then! I glanced at the mailbag and thought it said Moyes Fired...
Monday’s Guardian had a piece about Beneath us claiming that it was a foul because the 6 yard box belongs to the goalkeeper and that this is an "international rule". Unfortunately, having checked the rulebook they couldn’t find it! We always knew the Koppites play to a different set of rules to everyone else!!
Moyes was always going to be punished even though most people would agree that at the time the wrong decision was made by the referee. Having charged him, the FA couldn’t be seen to back down. I have long thought that it is the actions of the FA that brings the game into disrepute and that the use of this rule is simply a form of censorship. (My opinion and mine alone!)
"Then they act surprised when managers shout at them -- they have no option but to shout. There is no other legitimate recourse."
Shouting at officials is not legitmate recourse.
The respect campaign is good - but the FA need to realise that repsect works only if the referees and the players respect each other. The officials would do well to look at how the officials in Rugby Union approach the matter. In that sport, the referees use the Team Captains as a first "point of contact" in disciplining a player. Only if the player continues to transgress do they start dishing out cards. The players are treated with understanding by the refs and they in turn show respect to the officials.
