Merchandise Price Crash!
Comments (25)
Just in case anyone hadn't noticed, the prices of all Everton merchandise have been slashed. Official kits are on £14.99 for adults!!! Whilst I am really happy that I can get the away top so cheap and also other items, I am really annoyed that I paid £45 for the 3rd top Just 7 days ago and as I wore it on the weeekend it is to late to take it back. I assume the tops are just not selling as no other club has reduced their top prices.
I hope I have helped many Evertonians have a very Merry Christmas by pointing out this great saving opportunity.

Scot, join the club Mate, I paid full price plus printing then paid another £14.99 to get it shipped to Prague where I live now. Well at least the club has made some money!
Yeah Scott, I'm well happy ? been after the new superlambanana top... asked the missus to get me it for chrimbo. Couldn't believe it when she told me they were £14.99. She got me one so being a cheeky get I asked her for the other £20.00 she saved so I could get my Chelsea ticket. Who needs hi-vis jackets when we have the shirts?
Also only ordered 1 week ago!!! I unfortunately paid full price and an added £25 for postage to Australia. Ridiculous.
I managed to pick up 3 shirts for me and the Mrs for 45 quid yesterday. I?m hearing different storys at the minute, 1 is that we are changing shirt manufacturers next season, another is that we are changing official merchandising partners, and another is that JJB are about to go bang. Don?t know which one to believe but I?m made up with bargains!!
It's because JJB have a cashflow and working capital issue at the minute. We don't make any more or less money based on changing shirt prices as we have outsourced the retail operation to JJB. They pay us an annual licence fee and then make the proceeds if there is profit and if a loss is made then it is JJB's issue.
Clearly this won't help their profits but will have a positive effect on their cashflow.
Anyhow, it doesn't affect the club's income. We have the same deal with Sodexho for the catering.
Thanks for the tip-off. Just bought a few bits for the kids for xmas at bargain prices.
However, I noticed that this is not being advertised, unless you actually go the megastore on the website. You would have thought they would be promoting this on every webpage available.
Cos they're going to Le Coq Sportif next season.
I am surprised at this. Since the exclusive JJB, deal I am certain that sales will have dropped and therefore, the potential market of fans who haven?t got a kit has risen. I live in London and it is virtually impossible to find an Everton shirt on a shelf or rack in any of the stores down here. Even the JJBs thrust the RS and Manure in your face and hide the Everton shirts at the back of a row of Arsenal tops! I suppose the thought was that non-Merseyside based Evertonians would then be iclined to buy directly from the club (website or on match-days) thus meaning more money in the club coffers. There must some potential customers that we are losing though??
Cheers for the tip off Scott.
Just bagged myself 2 long sleeve adult home tops, with postage, for under £40. Would have been over a ton if I had done it last week!
One thing that is confusing me though, the baby kits are still £20! Oh well, my little lad will have to wait until next season for his one!
Thanks for that. Now they don?t have a small size in the 3rd away kit. Typical.
Just got another result. I took my full price top back to JJB and got a full refund as I said I bought the kit but then had it again for my Birthday. I then sent the Mrs back in to buy a new one at £14.99, so that £30 back in my pocket. For anyone else in Wales, I would just like to point out that the new home and away tops are also reduced to £14.99. What a Winner!!! 3 Points on Monday is all I want now!!
Oh thanks for the tip off man...
Now I?m getting my friend who is studying in UK to get me a whole bunch of kits for myself and my misus and my kids.
Thanks man... at £45 it would have cost me 300 Malaysian Dollars (RM300)... but at £14 it?s abt only RM90... damn cheap!!!
Can?t argue with prices like that.
I was thinking of getting a shirt this week but through a fluke circumstance at work ended up being given a match worn one (from the PSV friendly!).
Just got the away shirt in JJB Coleraine (N Ireland). Some size limitations ? no smalls; also would have liked the fluorescent one, but not sure they made it across the Irish Sea. Got a tip-off from someone this morning about it ? he thought it had to do with the Umbro partnership.
Got mine from the Manchester store today, they only had on sale the home shirts though. The guy on the counter said the price was due to JJB agreeing a deal with Umbro to flog Everton shirts to them at a price that Sports Direct cannot match. He also said other Umbro clubs could be subject to this price skimming.
Thanks for the tip! I just purchased a home and away kit with badges, names and numbers and Z Cars CD for a mere US$97!! The most expensive part was the shipping cost. The only thing that can make this upcoming Christmas season better is if we go on a torrid winning streak!!
I just bought 5 shirts for £67...
2x nephews have got wales home (long sleeve)
in addition 2x everton home kits
My missus got a ladies top un all...
If you buy online put the code ucas 965974 in and we got another £7.50 off!!
Thanks for the tip off Scott. Got my 3rd top from megastore online. Ideal price.
I?ve just got the white away top for under 15 bar!!
The bloke in JJB said it was because Addidas have bought out Umbro!
I had previously only bought the white one this year (yes, at FULL price) but having heard this, I bought the home shirt and long sleeve third kit as I play every week... so good to get a couple of new kits on the cheap!
Thanks for the tip-off Scott, I wasn't going to buy a shirt this year as I thought £45 was a rip-off.
Well you guys are lucky. My JJB store doesn’t even stock any Everton shirts. Just the big 4, Tottenham & Man City!
On Bluekipper they suggest it is because Le Coq Sportif is making a comeback. Why are we not working with aspirational brands such as Puma, Adidas or Nike? The clubs ambitions are matched by the brand they choose to associate with. Image is everything in this plastic world of ours.
Picked up the 3rd kit... shipping charge to ireland is a bit of kick though £15... so I made the most of it and got the shorts and a few other things. :-)
Nike bought Umbro about a year ago... not so long after Adidas bought Reebok. Adidas then took the top Reebok clubs (Liverpool) and switched them over to the Adidas brand.
It will be interesting to see if Nike do the same to Umbro. Unless we leave Umbro to change manufacturer completely, I would put money on us changing over to Umbro?s parent Nike...
Interesting info in this article though from BBC from last year: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/7057577.stm
"On Friday, retailer JJB Sports bought a 10.1% stake in Umbro in a move to protect its stake in the market for England football shirts.
The owner of rival retailer Sports World, Sports Direct International, already owns a 15% stake in Umbro."
Just been into JJB and I couldnt bring myself to part with even £14.99 for either the 2nd or the 3rd strip, both of which are some of the worst designs we have ever had. I’ll stick with the royal blue for now and save my £14.99.
