Not Everton

For all of you that have just witnessed that performance at Wigan, I have no answer. I, just like you, am sitting here absolutely bemused by what I have just seen. I have no idea why we played like a second division team.

WHY are all these great players we have playing this way?? Did Chris Kirkland have a save to make?? I stayed up all night to watch THAT!! I have made all and sundry here in the Maldives support EVERTON, after that I'm embarrassed... What the fuck went on there??

Sometimes I really think Marshy's right: every time we think we have proved him wrong, we go and throw in a performance like that. What is going on??

Shocking.

No tactical nouse.
No creativity.
No flair.
No width.
No pace (see Fellaini).
No character or bottle (see Arteta).
No spirit (see Lescott).
No strength (see Osman).
No passing movements.
No style.

The game, like most of those during Moyes's 7 year reign, was a reflection of his dour, personality. Fucking disgraceful.

What’s going on? Too many players are not performing with Arteta the main culprit.

I don?t think fault lies on individuals. It is the way we played. Whenever the ball goes to the back 4... you know what's gonna happen! long balls! Why?! There?s no big dun up there for goodness sake!

I am also very surprised why Yak stays for 90mins... he wasn?t in the game at all except for one good pass to Saha. A good striker can turn games around with one genius finish? God's sake... thought it was pretty obvious it wasn?t going to happen.

Don?t think Arteta played that badly for the last 10 mins, he was the one who was trying so damn fucking hard to link the defence and strikers.

Lescott, good enough for England? naaahhhh.... think Hibbert is much better going forward.

What we have just witnessed there is the same shit that we have been playing all season. We are extremely lucky to be were we are, as the games that we have won we could so easily have got nothing from. But to be made to look like a second rate mob from the lower leagues by a team like Wigan is an embarrassment. We play with no width whatsoever, so we are never going to be able to stretch a team & thus create space for our strikers.

Where is Van der Meyde? I?d play him & Baines on the flanks, as they could do no worse than the shite that are playing there at the moment.

Heres looking forward to the Hotsperms... if we play like we did today, we could be in for a trouncing!

Has anyone noticed that just about everyone involved in the public inquiry regarding Destination Kirkby refers to Kirkby as a town separate and distinct from Liverpool? This is despite years of propaganda telling us that Kirkby is really Liverpool, we are not leaving the city, petty municipal boundaries are meaningless, etc etc. Meanwhile not one person in the inquiry on either side has referred to Kirkby as being a simply a neighborhood in the city. Why? Because it isn't.

First of all....

Lescott sucks big time.... If I?m not mistaken every game he will make those mistakes that leads to opposition scoring ... it?s about time DM drops him and puts Baines on....

Secondly, Fellaini was also useless.... I didn't know what he was doing the whole night....

Thirdly, Yakubu... I wanted to strangle him myself if I could....

Fourthly, Cahill?s header is becoming more and more "ordinary" these days... since the Boro game have I seen him "miss" the targets that he should have scored in... and also he like completely blew it in the last minute with the open goal...arrggghhhh

Lastly, I?m a DM fan actually... I think he?s done well... but during the last 5 mins I was like "WTF?" Why on earth do you take out Phil Neville (who in my mind didn?t anything wrong) and put in Baines as LB, then lescott to the middle and either Jagz and Yobo became the RB? I mean "WTF was that?". Could have taken Fellaini or Cahill off and "tried" experimenting a little ... like Castillo or the other youngster.... Geez man....

Leighton Baines was only introduced into the game so he could play his old team Wigan for a token 5 min.

Bit hard on Tim, Kevin. He was unlucky not to score - I saw it as Kirkland pulling off a pretty good save. Also, Yak hogged it when he should have passed square to Tim to put away.

Amazing what you see when you’re positioned behind the goal rather than from the side. What was apparent was the lack of width every time we attacked. Full backs had no option to pass down the line and had to go long every time. Only going back to 4-5-1 will give us genuine width. We’re just not good enough for 4-4-2.

Steve Ryan absolutely stole my thunder with his post. Abject shite. If Leon Osman is a premier league player then I’m 2nd to Tiger Woods in the golf rankings, you could have took him off last night played with 10 men and nobody would have noticed.

Just add these No’s to Steve Ryans list
No way am I going to watch that shite for much longer

No respect from the players to the fans.

No way we’ll sell out GP again this season

No Idea what Steve Round’s supposed to be doing.

No way should Moyes be on £65K a week

No way should Osman ever pull on a Blue shirt again

No way we’ll get into Europe this season

No clue what goes on in training

No Just plain and simple No

Why pick on Osman he was by no means any worse than Yak,Fellaini,Lescott,Cahill and Arteta...Neville had a so so game and only Jags and Howard had good games..Saha has ball control but no support and lets face it Wigan should have beat us easier..The side looked like it had been out all over the weekend and collectively lacked pace, flair, ball control and variety BUT worst of all it lacked SPIRIT and that is inexcusable for so called pro players who are paid a fortune..DM said we played poorly...that must be the understatement of the season..Bruce said that Wigan had played better and lost so what does that say about us..Other teams have off days even the top three but we plumbed the absolute depths..The players we have got and the tactics we use are not good enough to represent EFC..we are the worst side in the league to watch and I cringe when I see that tripe served up for all and sundry to watch and laugh at on TV..I would fine the b......s a weeks pay...they have had lots of time off to practice the basics like ball control and passing...its like watching a child learning to swim...FLOUNDERING !!

Lescott is my biggest concern after watching on Setanta last night. He give the ball away, struggling positionally and generally nowhere near the player he was last season.

I agree though, it was a disgraceful performance. No passion, no creativity and no direction. The teams we are playing at the moment are the teams we should be beating easily. I hate to make comparisons but if you watch Villa play United on Saturday evening you would have seen a team, outside of the "big 4" playing with passion and drive.

Change the formation!

Howard

Hibbert Jagielka Lescott Baines

Castillo

Pienaar Arteta Osman

Cahill

Yakubu

Of course that would mean leaving out Captain Phil and our record signing plus Yobo who has been plain awful for a lot of this season. Never gonna happen and I must admit that I am disappointed with Moyes’ refusal to mix it up a bit more when it’s clearly not working

I totally agree with Martin Doherty . Its the system/tactics which are completely wrong. I’m absolutely sure Moyes knows he has no width , he can’t use Arteta wide and Pinnear is having an injury nightmare season. The reason he can’t use Arteta wide is that he has no recognized centre midfield player who can hold and to some extent allow the "flair players" to produce the goods. Fellaini is still way off the pace and to some extent I dont think Moyes knows where to play him. Osman cannot do the centre role -too lightweight and Cahill cannot do it as his main attribute is getting into the opponents box - therefore Artea drifts inside and we end up playing little narrow balls as we have no width.

I dont know how many times Howard throws to a full back who gives it inside to Arteta,Fellaini,Osman ,who then pass it back to Jags , who then gives it back to Lescott and hey presto!! we are back where we started 4-5 passes ago and the opposing team have all regrouped.

We need Artea and Pinnear wide (he’s trying Anichebe there at the moment but he cant do the role) , Castillo (at least try him) and FEllaini in the middle and 2 from Yak,Saha, and Cahill up front either in 4:4:2 or 4:5:1 depending on which 2 he picks.

To finish it off I would drop Yobo and put Jags and Lescott into the middle f the defence - Lescott gives you goals , Yobo doesnt and both are a poor 2nd to Jags at the moment.

What really got me was this idea of marking space (’zonal marking’?)
Perhaps it has some merit in a defence if you have the well-drilled personnel to do it but for Christ’s sake why mark space at bloody thowins?
Every Wigan throw seemed to be uncontested and straight to their man in acres of space...who’s behind this stupidity?
Beggars belief

Football at Goodison at the moment appears to have lost its way ? why ?

It's due to the lack of tactical abilty & knowledge. Moyes quite clearly depended on Irvine in the past, and, since Round's recruitment' we quite clearly haven?t got a clue. This reflects badly on Moyes due to his lack of ability & his recruitment, therefore, Mr Moyes, I?m afraid the buk stops at your feet!!!

Do you think the players resent Moyes is on £60k per week? The team does not seem to a close knit unit like last year.

This year has been dominated by Moyes and his contract ? which players now earn as much as Moyes?

What's pissing me off about Everton this season is that vs everyone this season when were playing badly we don't go in to, shall I say survival mode. Maybe that isn't the word for it but what I mean by that is become hard to beat, hound the opposition and close ?em down put the tackles in and stop the opposition from getting into there stride agaisnt us like we did in the second half of the United game. We should be doing that every game no matter who were playing wether it is Man Utd or Wigan.

On monday night we did?nt do any of those things and paid miserably for it! The amount of time and space we were giving Wigan was shocking, why the fuck do we always stand off 10 or so yards and let the opposition pick the passes/crosses out!

I mean look at Chelsea, Man Utd, Arsenal and dare I say it the shite. They?ve all got world class players on bigger wages than us but they all put the effort in in games, ya don't see them standing off the opposition 10 or more yards, they fucking get at you and stop ya from trying to play. They don't give you an inch and then go on to beat ya and thats why there as good as they are, not only because there good players but because they work hard and put the effort in and that's why I'm pissed off with Everton at the moment!

What makes us, Everton, think we don't need to put in a shift like that? It's a disgrace! Not only that but the football is rubbish, I was going to say the football we play is rubbish but we don't play football really do we! The movement in the side is so one-paced and slow it's shite. Movement makes passes and we just don't move about quick enough if at all.

I noticed in the game vs Wigan that every Everton player ran away from the player who had the ball, not one player showed for the ball at all and it ended up going back to howard or it got hoofed up field, I'm not joking, the local Sunday league side play better football than us!! Things need changing and fast because I don't think I can put up with it anymore, actually I know I can?t put up with it anymore!!

Who cares about who earns more than who?? I for one don't give a toss. The players look like they are not enjoying playing... something drastically is wrong. If I were manager I would make the players READ the fans comments here as a punishment after a spiritless exhibition of NON football as was witnessed at Wigan.

The players had the weekend off so no-one can say they were tired ? they must have been out clubbing over the weekend and should be heavily fined for not turning up for the job at Wigan. DM is on a shoe string and let's face it, you get what you pay for ? although I exclude Fellaini and Yak in that statement because they were both useless.

Point I was making was that Everton pay these players good wages and for what, because at the minute there not playing good enough or putting the effort in for some of ?em to earn there big pay packets! The top four pay big wages and get the best for it, they get results, we pay decent enough money too to some of are players and get fuck all back!! Our players are taking the piss at the moment and don't deserve the wages they are picking up, it's a disgrace!!

There?s Hull there who, let's be honest' have got no stars in there team (I'm not saying we have either but hopefully you get my point!) and their top earners probably get half of what are top earners get, and their desperate to do well and are having a right good go at it this season and then there?s our lot who don't look like they give a shit, happy to turn up on a saturday afternoon and show their faces for 90 minutes and then take their readies home with ?em!!
