David Moyes; read this

Yes, I know that he probably doesn't come on here but writing this will make me feel better.

To start with some basics. How is it possible that Moyes doesn't realise that the 4-4-2 of last night doesn't work? All 4 last night were shite. Cahill only works in a 4-5-1. He used to at least score goals , now all he does is contrive to miss simple chances.

Arteta seemed to play for about 10 minutes last night. The rest of the time you wouldn't have even noticed that he was on the pitch.

We had no width. This is a basic for football teams.

They used to say feed the yak and he will score. I prefer, don't bother feeding the yak because the bastard cannot be arsed and is playing for a transfer. Yak and Saha doesn't work.

How many times is Lescott going to get caught out at left back? Better to maybe play him as a left sided midfielder, he cannot be any worse than the current shite.

Substitutions. Moyes doesn't seem to understand that you can utilise 3 of them and that you don't have to wait till the 85th minute. Someone should buy him an alarm clock that rings on 50 , 60 and 70 minutes , you get the principle.

Oh and , whilst I am ranting , it's called football, not fucking hoofball. How many times did we hope and hoof last night?

Our results have papered over the cracks but last night was dire.

Finally, Felatio. Is Moyes stark raving bonkers? How can he have cost £15m? I see better players in the Blue Square Premier.

I?m a Moyes supporter, but yes, you?re right on all these. If The Yak could be arsed as he sometimes is, he could work with Saha very easily. But we knew that Yakubu wasn?t a ?Moyes type of player? when he was signed. Still, would like 20 goals again this season.

I thought Fellaini was starting to find his feet after the games against Utd and Bolton, but he seems to have slipped back into ?Yak mode? whereby he casually strolls round the pitch looking like he doesn?t give a fuck.

It?s still early days for him and I?m really hoping he turns out to be the dominant midfield force we need him to be, but I?m just so fed up at the moment with our shitty, lack-lustre performances.

Any chance the lads could show a bit of fighting spirit against Spurs and at least pretend to give a fuck about wearing the blue of Everton?

One other question Mr Moyes: why can't our players string two passes together? We seem to be absolutely terrified of the ball. We do have a decent bunch of players but Moyes seems to have ruined them. Get Baines back in at left back, play Arteta in the middle and stop using Cahill in a 4-4-2 because he is simply not good enough. £65k a week? Kenwright you must be on drugs. Pathetic.

Most Evertonians would play for the club for nothing. Unfortunately, the majority of our squad are not Evertonians but overpaid mercenaries who seem totally devoid of pride. We care more than they do. It?s just a pity a few of them did not read this site in the last couple of days. I exclude Phil Nevile from this as, limited though he is, he never hides and actually seems to care.

I find it very difficult the way people have to blame Fellaini for Everton's dire performances! I think he is the only player that keeps the ball and who constantly finds feet with his passes, wins 90% of balls hoofed up in the air to him, and all but a bit clumsy at times he gets stuck in! The rest of them dont know what it is like to pass to another player on their team! And if thats the type of player supporters want then I'm afraid get used to the football your seeing!

Just because the Fellaini cost £15m everyone blames him for the teams performances... What is the lad meant to do when you have the likes of brain-dead Yobo blasting the ball 40 yards back to the opposition keeper every time he gets the ball! I think some Everton fans should be ashamed of the way they have took to slatting a 20-year-old lad when the senior pros in the squad are the ones that need a rocket up the backside!

This has all been said Jonathan. Although I understand it?s impossible to keep it to oneself when the frustration is so great. We are shite, pants, rubbish, boring, turgid etc.

You?re being too hard on Fellaini. It?s not easy joining a new club that play a game so alien to what you?re used to and where being passed to by a team-mate is as rare as rocking horse shit. And truthfully I even blame Moyes (now and his summer strop) for the poor form & motivation of most of the players. In saying that, Lescott?s fall has been spectacular & depressing.

I wonder if Moyes thinks he is fooling all of us all of the time. His demeanour suggests to me he knows the game is up and he feels (rightly) acute embarrassment at the Pete Tong of a season that we are enduring.

He will have known the financial situation in the summer and should have decided to either grin & bear it and crack on (as before), or resigned on the basis that he can?t take us any further. In doing neither and acting out his summer of discontent, then belatedly signing a bumper contract when we were already out of 2 cups and playing shite every game, he has shown himself to be no more principled than you or me.

I don?t think he will be legally entitled to 5 years pay if he is sacked. Ramos only got £1m or £2m. The biggest challenge would be attracting the right guy without the promise of funds to build his own team.

How about we organise a pants day at a coming home game, as Man City fans did a few years back. Everyone turns up wearing underpants on their head. Great PR and the message might just get through.

Then again...

I have to agree with the sentiments of all who posted. I am a Moyes supporter, and I have and will to an extent still defend him based on both the improved performances and results we have had over the last 5 seasons. But I have got to admit this season started badly and has never improved.

Yes, we got a couple a good results... well, one against West Ham where for 10 minutes we were brilliant and a half against United where we pressured and fought for every ball. Besides that, it has been nothing short of CRAP!!!! What has happened to my idols? Lescott ? I loved that fella last year but he is as bad this year as he was good last; Arteta ? makes me cry whenever he gets the ball... a man who made even Tricky Trevor look like a juvenile delinquent. If he crosses one more ball and it doesn't clear the first man, you will hear a gun go off as I will have shot myself in the head. The Yak ? well let's just rename him the LOAD of CACK.

Moyes must take the lion's share of responsibility for the poor season, the players must share this too and STEVE "what the hell does he do" ROUND should be given the taxi door as this man has done nothing to improve our performances.

Please somebody turn our season round (ROUND what an effing terrible joke...)

I’d have to disagree with one point; Arteta played for 10 mins? Which 10 mins??? Was that in the WARM-UP??? He is crap and has been for the whole season. At least in the past he could hit a dead ball. He drives me mad when he kicks it straight into the keepers arms. My 8 yr old could do better!

I have finally woken up to the smell of Bovril and realised this isn't going to get any better. And by that I mean the style of football.

I know teams in the lower leagues who can play attractive football and their whole team didn?t cost £15m... so what's going on?

I remember an old article with Moyes suggesting the hoofball was down to the percentages game. If we hoof it at least the ball is in the opposition's half and you have the 50/50 at best chance of latching onto something. This is then less pressure on our back 4.

I don't really accept this anymore and it shows we are now tactically inept. 30,000 fans in the ground every other week can see what needs doing.

Just like all of you, I am at a loss to explain why a manager who has won two manager of the year awards and guided us to Europe numerous times can fail to see what many of us "ordinary" fans can see. Not sure how many of us sung the praises of Lee Carsley (except when he scored the winner against the shite) until after he left. But apparently his leaving has left an enormous hole that we cannot fill. I do think that Moyes has to give Castillo a chance in that role.

I think he has to start Baines out on the left and move Lescott to centre half. I think he should drop Osman and play Arteta, Pienaar, Castillo and Fellaini in midfield. I would also still play Cahill behind Yakubu and go for the 4 5 1 combination. Lastly I would have Pienaar take the corner kicks and freekicks as it simply is not working for Arteta.

This is not rocket science or even the school of science. It is simply what most of us are crying out for. Even if we played this formation and showed heart I can live with getting beat. This lacklustre performance from most of the team is what is breaking all our hearts especially when the team from across the park is doing so well.

Ajay, the fact the team across the park is doing so well is certainly a factor, especially as they are not as good as their position suggests. It is frustrating in the extreme that we are looking like relegation fodder, when we know the team can and should be so much better than that. It must be down to attitude as laid down by those who run the club.

LFC hit financial restrictions and suddenly their team goes out and gives it everything, EFC meanwhile wave the little white flag both on and off the field and the fans can only stand and watch. It?s enough to make a grown man cry.

While I do agree on many things the original poster say.

I do think people are being unfair on Fellaini, who hasn?t been all that bad. It?s not his fault that the transfer fee is inflated considering his current ability.

He?s still a kid, a quite good kid I might add.

I was enjoying the first part of the Wigan game, we looked quite good. The passing was quick and we had 3 corners in the first 5. Which brings me to my first rant, why does Arteta have to take every dead ball? Why don?t we seem to score from corners as much as we used to? I don?t know if there is such as thing as a goals from corner/free kick ranking but I cannot believe we would be in the top half. More often than not Mikey hits the first man.

Secondly, why are we playing players that are either unfit or off their game mentally? This includes Cahill, Lescott and Arteta. Are the subs that crap ? Castillo. Van der Meyde, Baxter, Rodwell ? give them a game so we can at least see why they don?t get a game regularly. As Jonathan said above, why no width? Osman and Arteta cannot do it wide. Is Shandy Andy that bad!

As for Fellaini, the jury is still out. He may not be the final solution but he also isn?t the major problem!
