In Defence Of The Yak

So the Yak has become the new whipping boy. Well, listen up lads. He has, if youv'e not forgotten, one of the best scoring records in the Prem. Moyes is doing to him what he did to AJ. Turning him into another headless chicken channel runner.
His game is not tracking back or running into channels and to expect him to do so is bollocks. He is a goal hanger supreme and, if given the right service, will score for fun.
The useless twat that is Moyes has a habit of ruining good players. He is doing it with Lescott, tried it by playing Neville in the middle, and cannot fathom out Arteta's best position when we all know it's in the middle.
Don't blame Yak. Blame that useless bastard Moyes and his inept management.

I totally agree, Yak has a great scoring record. He is there to score goals not chase over to the corner flag. Also, as our midfield is so bad, none of our strikers get any service. So, for the Yak to score so many goals for us is very good indeed.
Spot on Dave! Moyes and his tactics are ruining our team. He has defo taken us as far as he can.
Remind me again why we gave Moyes a 5 year contract ?
Is it just me or does anyone else think that Fellaini doesn?t fit in with our midfield Cahill etc.
Valid points lads but its unfair to nail Moyes to the cross just yet... he has brought all these quality players to the club and helped us become one of the strongest teams outside the top four. I agree he is playing players outside their favoured postition; however, he is doing his best to play the ?best players? on the pitch at the same time.
I think a major mistake was signing Fellaini, I cannot see how he is worth £15 million. I think Castillo looked better. Arteta needs to be on the right. Hope we can turn things round soon before we fall off track.
Just watch Yak in the next game ? lazing in the centre always always on his heels. Arteta et al have nothing to play the ball into to build from hence the midfield 5 yard slow passing we get treated to. So frustrating!!I say sell to Spurs, Saha is far better.
The argument it is up to the rest of the team who should provide - I think Torres, Adebayor, Rooney, Drogba, Anelka all work hard so why not Yak?
Also just to finish my rant against this absolute waste of space, he must be the biggest diver in the Premier League.
We are experiencing the same as Middlesborough and Portsmouth in the back end of his careers at those clubs I am afraid.
So if the Yak doesn't score, as is the case for most of this season, What exactly is his role ? If Cahill doesn't score, he hardly contributes either... We can't carry passengers in the Prem, Dave. These guys owe us more.
Spot on Dave.Arteta must be put in middle now.Leave Cahill out if playing 2 up front.Give Baines a run of games and then we can judge best left back.lescott kick up arse and benched.Lets give castillo a go in holding role.We are crying out for some width.WTF has Steve Round brought to EFC !!
Am I missing the point here lads? I thought the Yak was brought here to score goals, not to run around like a chicken with no head? For him to find the back of the net, he needs the ball where he is most dangerous, in and around the box, not running down ( AJ style ) down the flanks. Also,it is not his fault for the shite he has around him, and the inept tactics of Moyes, is it?
Agree with Dave Lynch. I was quite happy with the signings at the times of Beattie, AJ and Yak. It can’t be pure co-incidence that they have all lost the art of scoring after a while under DM’s ’guidance.’
Yak is certainly not an enthusiatic runner, and maybe could do more, but if you spend good and scarce money on top players to fit into your team ethos and system, surely you don’t then try to change the players much - isn’t it better to get players that already suit your style?
agree with a lot of the points made, but it seems to me some players are not playing for moyes,on monday it wasn’t just the yak who didn’t show any passion it was 3/4 of the team,,sorry to say moyes takes a lot of the blame at present, there was nearly 7-8000 traveling blues at wigan on monday, there was no balance to the team, some players didn’t know were they were playing, and cahill can’t play in a 4-4-2,moyes gets paid a lot of money for delivering results for everton fc,but hay we will be all be singing his praises on sunday if we get a good result against spurs, but if he picks the same team there will be only one result.
To be honest i think moyes has come to the conclusion that improving our midfield would cost more than we can afford, good creative midfielders are simply the most expensive players to buy. I think he is now focusing on bringing a young midfield unit into the team during the mid stage of his new contract, containing rodwell fellani baxter etc as a gelled unit. I persume that he will not spend on the mifield again in the summer coming, opting for loans and buy another young midfielder who fits in his plans. I hope this makes sense lol.
That’s very hopeful J Key. To be honest I don’t think Moyes knows what to do next. If your wish was true then why isn’t he playing Rodwell and Baxter? Whilst he builds this new dynamic midfield, what happens in the meantime?
Moyes is a one dimensional manager with one tactic, 4-5-1. He’s been found out now and can’t adapt. His one chance to add another dimension was to bring in a useful number 2 but Steve Round is nothing more than his buddy who takes training. He offers nothing in the way of tactical knowledge.
I think a lot of Spurs fans were questioning the commitment of their players under Ramos, now look how they’re doing under ’Arry. If we want more commitment from our team then we need a manager who can inspire them.
Um. I could see the validity of this argument with Aj and BT - a bit - but with the yak?
Did you watch him when he was at pompey or boro? He’s exactly the same now! Blaming DM is ridiculous.
Tbh, I’d prefer Aj. Someone with pace and who always gives 100%. We’re lacking pace so, so much.
Dave L, Agree with all you say but would like to make a SMALL point. Moysie seems to be taking an awful long time figuring Castillos position out, especially when most of the rest are useless (at the moment) Surely he must see changes HAVE to be made quickly OR ELSE!!!
The Yak started the season well by scoring for fun and the reason for this is when we were short of number with injuries and Moyesy a bit slow in the market etc the Yak was running about more and taking more of a responsibility. When everyone came back from injury and with the new signings the Yak didn't carry on this responsibility and didn't run about as much and just stood there expecting something to happen instead of making it happen and in my opinion it's the same old story to this day. In the 2nd half versus Utd he ran about all the time and from that he did make something happen and making one of the best defenders in the world look average.
I was at Wigan Monday night and I was embarrassed by his performance, he literally just stood there all game being caught offside on more than one occassion. If he started to move about more then we would see less of this hoofball we?re seeing at the moment and play the way Moyes wants us to play, on the deck.
It?s time for the Yak to stand up and be counted and take more responsibility and prove he?s one of the best strikers in this league.
I was speaking to his cousin on Thursday in Manchester who told me he was 40, no shit...
ha!
When we signed AJ he was a goalscorer that changed and I agree that Moyes is doing exactly the same with the Yak. I've lost my patience with Moyes... sack the cunt before it's too late. He has taken Everton as far as he is going to take us and now it looks all downhill with Moyes COYBB.
Marcus Bent was the striker Moyes loved... already shite so it didn?t matter if he spent most the game running round like a headless chicken.
Rooney too skillfull and roaming. Would get dragged off or kept on the bench quite a lot.
Duncan Ferguson, could not run always on the bench.
Radzinski, hard worker with pace would always be deployed down the upper flanks... like what Moyes ended up doing with AJ.
Beattie another proven scorer turned to shit.
Yakubu, currently struggling as the crippling tactics of Moyes side bites him.
We have Anichebe who is never Premier League class and James Vaughan who is so injury prone he might as well call time on his career at EFC now.
Great move selling AJ in the summer, Moysie ? really made sense that one.
Moyes should be making his move now to tie up a deal for a striker so that he signs January 1st. We cannot hang about but I expect dithering and some no-mark to sign Jan 31st.
Splash the cash Bill, get Kevin Doyle in January.
Joe Morton... calling Moyes a cunt after all he’s done for us! Made us a European team, after the shite Smith and others have done! Such a disgrace... grow up!! I also agree with Robbie.. Kevin Doyle would be a great signing, give us that bit of pace and a good finisher too.
