Loan Player

Comments (68)

A couple of weeks ago when Joe Hart (Manchester City) was injured, they were given the permission to sign a loan player if they wanted.

We have lost 3 of our strikers for the foreseeable future, will we be afforded the same opportunity as City or does it only cover Goalkeepers?

Emile Heskey in January?? Moyes will love him, he runs around like a headless chicken, can head the ball and he can play on the wing. Champion!

Heskey, although i?d hate to see it, is looking likey to be Moyes?S top target in January. Owen is also a possibility as he is clearly not happy at Newcastle. However, i could see someone like Billy Sharp coming due to the money situation! Please not Larsson!

During the Swedish winter break "Henke" as he is known here has decieded to play "inne bandy" known as "floor ball" in the UK I believe. He is playing at the highest and impressing too.
Floorball is a huge sport over here.
Well done West Ham.

With our preferred 4-5-1, Owen would be less effective than Johnson ? also height-challenged, but not a lost causes chaser. Ste?s right on Heskey ? to which you can add that he rarely scores. The "better" option is to keep the cash and make Moyes earn his money and get Big Vic to get stuck in. And get Dunc back to individually tutor Vic in that regard.

Reckon a couple of the best options would be Manucho from Man Utd or Benjani from City seeing as they’re clearly going to recruit big.

More ambitious would be Crespo who’s not getting a game for Mourinho again!...

Ronaldo v.1.0’s still available on a free as well!...

People keep talking about a ?Championship player? in January. The strikers scoring goals for their current Championship clubs and getting regular games are likely to cost a lot of money (more than we can afford for a stop gap) ? look at how much we paid for Lescott, who is a defender. Strikers tend to cost more. If they don't cost much then they are likely to be old and probably aren?t sharp enough for the step up to Premier League.

The other players mentioned eg McBride and Larsson are also probably too old.

Turns out Saha only had cramp and I would therefore suspect he is likely to be back soon. This weekend??? Vaughan only has a cartilage op and also should be back early January I would guess. Me thinks we are all panicking and over-reacting a bit here. The Yak was being slated but, as soon as he gets injured, it's panic all round.

We?ll be ok with Saha, Cahill and Vic with Vaughan making (another) comeback in January.

Although saying that, wonder if Love might still pop out of a craker at Xmas (or January at least).

Definately got to be Big Dunc for a last horrah! Reports going round that Martins is an option. Probably my favourite out of the lot, should blend in well with the other Nigerians we have and a good partnership with the Yak (when fit) if we could do a deal. Mags want Baines, maybe a swap on the cards? Although it?d be another one we?d lose with the ACN. Agree with Mark Pendleton, we don?t need Owen when we?ve got Saha and Vaughan already, waste of money. Benjani could be a good call as City will be spending, spending, spending in Jan. Big Vic for the time being gets my full backing.

It only covers goalies, because they are essential whereas, in an emergency, teams are expected to play players out of position if they are short on numbers outfield.

I personally think Henrik Larsson is past it, but he?s available on a free isn?t he? I?d like to see one of Moyes?s loan deals with a view to a permanent deal coming off with someone like Podolski (not going to happen). Maybe we?ll go back in for Marcus Bent? £500k? Or on loan? He?s played the role before and if we?re skint you never know...

I also remember various papers saying the Vagner Love thing was a done deal, not going to happen though. Kevin Doyle would be a good call, but I think he would cost around £7mill. Ronaldo is worth a punt on a free, put some much needed bums on seats. Larsson i think is too old, Podolski would also be a good shout, maybe even on loan. But I have a feeling that moyes will look home, maybe Scott Mcdonald or Kris Boyd. I would love to see Anichebe and Baxter prosper though.

I think we should try and get someone of real quality. There are a good few top class players out there playing for the mammoth clubs who probably wouldn?t mind a 2-3 month Larsson-style deal.

I?m personally against Larsson, as the fella's nearly 38. I?m thinking more along the lines of Crespo, Saviola etc. Zigic could creep back into the frame again, as he?s about as welcome in Valencia as the plague, and seriously needs to get his career back on track. He?d suit the the hoofball as well, being taller than a bay horse.

This really is pie in the sky but what about trying to get Andrei ?I?d love to play for Everton? Arshavin for a few months. The Russian seasons? closed for winter.... he needs to keep his face in the rags to get that dream move to a Champions League club, seeing as he?s been shite since the Euros and the offer from Barca has been conspicuous by its absence. It might be worth a try.

I lived in Swindon for a long time and adopted them as my second team and I've seen Lukas Jutkiewicz play a few games. He has some decent skill for a big lad (6 foot 2, I think) and could be a potential starter. Played 20 odd games in League 1 and got a few goals so has been in a match before. Played for Plymouth on loan but didn't get much of a chance. I reckon we?ll see him by Christmas. Swindon fans were sad to lose him so fingers crossed for a new big Dunc!!!

You?d like to think Everton?s youngsters would be given an opportunity and that they would seize it. But that?s not David Moyes?s way is it? You?d like to think that rather than pick up the superannuated talents of a Larson a Heskey or Lil? Itty Bitty Owen-ly in it For the Money.

Moyes would beat a path to Arsenal?s door and pick up some of their kids, and coupled with our young talent give youth it?s head. But no he won?t... I guess swashbuckling devil-take-the-hindmost attitudes have no place in football management. *Sigh*.....

I mean we can offer him 1st team football rather than just training with the squad? You might know more than me on that one....?

He?d fit right in here though, I?ve watched him live in the US a few times, hard working, runs across the line behind the defence a little but like Michael Owen used to do. He?d be great for us - a completely different option to what we already have. A but like AJ in some respects.

Now that Aresnal are out of the Lg Cup we should look at some of their kids: Vela etc wont get a game now until next season's competition, get em on loan till the end of the season.

And Podolski cannot get a game in Munich so why can't we loan him with a view to buy in the summer if he delivers? Bayern don't need to know we won't have the cash come July to make it permanent.

Don't rule out Everton looking into the MLS for a short fix too now it's post-season, they are desperate for there MVP?s to get more exposure out of season, e.g. Ching, De Rosario, Twellman or Cooper. Jozy Altidore did it last year and Villarreal ended up signing him.
