Get a Haircut!

Comments (20)

Having been well and truly put through the wringer (yet again) by another Jekyll and Hyde performance, there are many points to reflect on, but only two to mention here.

The first was Phil Neville's ace tackle on the Villa poacher Young; like the Ronaldo tackle, it was fair but the lad was probably seeing stars for the next 10 minutes!

The second is a plea to Screech...... get a flippin' haircut!! I swear he would have scored with at least one of his two great efforts but for the cushioning effect of his ever growing mop of curls. I heard today that Dion Dublin made comment of the fact that it was for that exact reason that he keeps his head shaved and quite right too.

Other than that I think yer man is improving week by week; he still gets caught by the pace of the game sometimes but his passing and all round contribution is light years ahead of his first few games.

No way is that player worth £15 Million ? and, haircut or not, he is never likely to be so!

Can I just remind people that, aside from Jagielka, Fellaini has arguably, in fact wait there's no argument about it, has been our best performer since Xmas, our biggest goal threat and if people are saying he isn't worth £15 million.

Who has made a greater impact: David Bently who Spurs paid more for?? Anonymous, ask any Spurs fan; Modric?? Owen Hargreaves??? Oh I nearly forgot.. Robbie Keane?? £20 million for a guy knocking on 30 years of age??
I know who I would rather have had out of that lot.

Jesus Christ it was about 10 years ago the RS paid £11 mill for Diouf and he?s never been worth that. A player is worth what the buying club will pay and what his club will let him go for.

The right thing to do whenever assessing a players worth - is of course to look around and find a club who have similarly been idiotic, and justify it on this basis.

£11 million on Babel; £15 million on Nani ?neither player has set the Premier League alight but both are young players with potential bought for the future.

Wenger always says that it takes at least a year for a player who has never played in this country to acclimatise. He didn?t start Eduardo in his team for at least six months and he is/was an established international. Adebayor was bought a year before he became a first team regular.

We don?t have that luxury. We have to put the likes of Fellaini in the team straight away rather than nurture his talent.<

Maybe it?s time to use the barnet for cheating?

We all know that we are good at head tennis, so why not head it to Felly, he catches it in his hair and runs the length of the pitch into the goal, sorted.

I think it?s a magnificent thatch, the more he improves, the less you will see it I?m sure.

I thought he was excellent in this game but our defence and strike force was shit.

When will we have a defender that can pass? Tis why I love Nuno Valente so much.

Dion did say that about his shaven head, but as Andy Gray pointed out, you use your forehead to header the ball so your hair style does fuck all to impact on a header.

I think its a top a cut.

Then again, I?m a complete baldy so an bonce coverage would be nice for me.

Also, I agree with Craig, are you not meant to head the ball with your forhead? Last time I looked, screech had a fair bit of skin on show there.

£15 Mil though?? The mind boggles.

At least we all seem to agree on a marked improvement of Gulliver. Hopefully this pattern will continue.

Is it the lad's fault Moyes paid £15m for him? He?s a decent player so get behind him instead of waiting for him to fail. I've heard kopites give him less stick than some blues!

I think it’s a great haircut. All blokes these days look like & dress like Steven Gerrard, so it’s refressing when someone dosn’t.

I dont think we can say yet whether he is worth £15 million! He could have let's say, 3 good seasons for us, then we sell him for a huge profit for all we know and like someone else said, it ain't his fault that price got paid for him! Also, whilst we are mentioning other high priced youngsters, Man United's Anderson, for me, is one of the most overrated players on earth, and for only £19 million!!!

I heard a pundit today say that he thinks Fellaini will be a ?superstar? in the Premier League, let's hope so.....

Keep the hair, I want to see the FA cup nestled in it at the end of the season.

Pat Nevin, commentating on Radio 5, opined that our lad is the best header of the ball in the Premier League ? partly on account of his ability to "jump his height".

Given his youth, and the fact he?s playing a league renowned for being difficult to adjust to (pace-wise etc), I think the lad?s doing OK.

From what I've seen of him, he hardly gives the ball away, most of the time he plays one-touch and is becoming more and more influential with each game. I'd say he's worth about £7 million now, but if he continues to improve over the next 5 years at the rate he has in recent weeks and settles in the side (once he learns English) he?ll easily be worth the £15 million. And I quite like his daft haircut.

Far too early to be sure, but I like what I see. Considering how our midfield has been chopped and changed since he arrived, he?s done well. Looks like there is still more to come. Just needs to stop picking up silly bookings. I think he is going to be a big hit. Give him time, Evertonians.

The reason we paid £15m for the Big Fella is the fact that he is 20 years old. For the type of player that he is, he could still be playing for us in the PL when he is 35. That?s £15m for 15 seasons, an average of £1m a season. He?s potentially a very good box-to-box all-round player, for £1m a season, I?d take that every year.

If he fulfills his potential, which so far I don?t see why not, then the only way he will leave is if a big club come in for him, then we will receive a cheque for £20m-£30m.

Are you guys seriously saying that with only about £15M to spend, Moyes should not have done more than blow the lot on this Fella? OK, he?s big, awkward and puts himself about enough to get booked in every match.

I have to say I wanted more for that amount of money. Bollocks to ?the future? ? our need for players was NOW. Moyes said as much and just failed to deliver. Prepare to finish tenth!
