The “I”s have it!

Our long & miserable history of poor marketing & merchandising is the stuff of legend. One would think that, in 2008, we would have more of a clue. Hmm....
My cousin Steve made a trip to the megastore last week to buy 2 new kits for his nephews. Upon requesting the names of Jagielka and Arteta for the backs of the shirts he was asked would he mind if they missed the "I" off Jagielka. The reason is that Everton's megastore had earlier run out of "I"s.
Now is this nit-picking or just a further example of crass ineptitude? To run out of shirt letters 10 days before Christmas, by far the busiest buying time of the year, is mind-boggling. Worse still, "I"s will not be back in stock until after Christmas... You couldn't make it up.
Smelly Christmas to all, especially if your favourite player has an "I" in his name.

No Fellaini, Jagielka or Pienaar shirts for the young ’uns?
They’ll all have to make do with Lescott’s and Osman’s the poor things.
It’s incredulous isn’t it? Irritating, I-popping, insane, in-store ineptitude!
Imagine........

Sounds almost old english! Circa 1800’s. You could use that slant ’we are going to back to our roots son’ if they complain about it.
How many of these posts are going to put up and commented on before the penny finally drops!
This is NOT EFC’s fault! The Megastore is operated by JJB not EFC. EFC have no control over what JJB, buy, sell or how they manage it. And before some idiot says that they should - the credit crunch was not even a blip on the horizon when the club enterted into the arrangement. Hand on heart, hands up anyone who projected that the CC would happen? Who thought that JJB would be as close to financial meltdown as it is today?
Believe me, I know that EFC are as upset as anyone that this hasn’t worked out, but it really should be JJB that is taking the brick bats, not EFC.
Happy Chr stmas everyone.
I would rather pick the peanuts out of Peter Johnsons poo than admit what I’m about to say but BOTH of the LFC shops, especially the new one in the L1 shopping centre are excellent.
The way they are designed and set out is brilliant and I was gutted at how Everton didnt have anything similar. Both shops were absolutely packed (and this was months before the xmas rush)
We entrusted JJB to look after our retail and merchandising.... have you seen the EFC section of the JJB in town???? Its a joke and extremely embarrasing!!! All of the kits and souvenirs are just thrown together and dont stand out at all!
We want to challenge the big 4 and we are looking at ways of generating more income... and (apart from the tiny clubshop at the ground) we dont even have our own flagship city centre store?? Im sure that Everton FC could have taken one of the new units in or around the L1 development and really given us an attractive and enticing focal point for selling our kits and merchandise to all the new shoppers coming to the city.
Yet again..... another opportunity missed!
Happened to me once when I was getting an England shirt no O’s (Scholes) so I just got Beckham instead. No sweat.
I suggest getting Yobo far cheaper.
What the...?!?
Steve, Spot on About Ratcliffe mate! ha ha! I can?t understand why he can?t say it.
Jags is the best centre half we?ve had for years. He is absolute quality.
