Great chance to win here but can’t see it. Chelsea at goodison have always had a bit of luck and love to play there.
Pienaar has been more of threat to our back 4 than Deco so far. He has the first touch of Freddie Kruger tonite.
Or back 4 looking solid and even Yobo spraying passes around. COYB
Why do we use arteta for set pieces?
I’d take a draw tonight anyway - would be a good result against however many men chelsea put out...
http://www.ustream.tv/videoplayerpopup/channel/407932
Chelsea have deserved all their cards so far, Terry in prticular, the freekick that got Lmpard his card shouldn’t have counted IMO but he was mouthing at the ref so.,... I still don’t get why we always play Hibbo at right back in the big games though.
At least have castello on the beach so we can take him off if he plays his normal game.
http://footballlivechannels.blogspot.com/ - Terry’s such a cock! Still don’t fancy our chances of getting a goal even against 10 men.
http://freesportstreams.tk/
For second half, excellent quality
Soooooooooooo sick of Arteta taking the free kicks
Links to streaming - I’m in Spain and justin.tv -EA_sports have given all of the first half from an Italian source. In the UK I’ve had good results from the iraqgoals mentioned above.
First half? Started well - faded - came back. Pienaar must have better second half. Fellaini looks as good a player as there is out there - in some very expensive company.
Every bone in my body crossed.
Man, the setanta fools annoy me. It was a terrible tackle, Osman didn’t dive and Terry is not an angel you fuckwits.
We need to keep them quiet and hope for a bit of luck.
We won’t get a better chance to beat them than now. I hope Moyes realises this and goes for it!
If we dont get too intimidated by Drogba and company we could possibly nick this.
We have two players who cannot compete at this level, i.e. against top four and these are Hibbort and Osman.
I think if Moyes goes for it and we lose the fans will be less forgiving than sitting back and hoping for a 1.0.
From the Everton website commentary, it doesn't look like Arteta or Pienaar are playing too well.
Yobo is out injured, Baines in. Fuck.
Come on, Leighton!
INJURY CRISIS GETTING WORSE!Castillo was a doubt for the match apparently due to injury (Liverpool Echo). Jags was also a doubt but seems okay so far. Yobo?s now hobbled off. We have no strikers anyway and Osman is playing with an injury. Despite all that, VDM can?t get a game! He must truly be the shittest player... but I hope he comes off the bench to score the winner. We should be going for this against ten men ? did we learn nothing from last year?s Carling Cup match?
damn Arteta’s corners are useless.
Fair play to everyone we are going for it.
Fans are well up for it too. :-)
Arteta, Pienaar, Osman and Hibbert playing pretty shit. Everyone else playing great.
Damn Petr Cech! That’s two great saves in quick succession. Keep pushing them back Blues!
Getting closer and closer - inventive effort from Screech!
I think wwe need to stretch the game wider by getting VDM on for Hibbert and pushing Pip to right back. We have the aerial power to hurt them late on as they are clearly getting tired with only 10 men. Just hope something drops to Cahill...
Would have taken it at start of play.
We should have won it. Without any strikers we didn't have the firepower up front. We played nicer football than them! Doesnt look good for Yobo though.
I suppose a draw would have been a decent result if we hadn’t scored one - possibly an own goal.
We were robbed.
Happy with a draw but we deserved a win, Cech showed why he’s considered the best in the world though tbf.
Really dont know what to think about that result. Would have taken a point at the start, but against 10 men, and with Moyes, AGAIN, not making ANY attack minded sub OR formation change, I'm a bit gutted really. I suppose Moyes has no balls and never will.
It was a good performance. Everyone was 100% concentrated throughout the 90 mins. In my opinion Moyes should have brought Van der Meyde with 20 mins to go for the ineffective Osman. But I take a point. Again, well done boys!!!
Baines on for Yobo made it more attacking... I know he was forced into it but still an attacking substitution IMO.
And Leighton Baines looked the very good footballer he is out there tonight. Even Cap’n Pip put in a good shift in midfield. Something happening? Possibly.
I can’t agree with some of the comments on here. For me, that was our best performance of the season by far. For large parts of the game we completely outplayed, outpassed and outmoved a team which was in the Champions League Final last May.
I believe Pienaar’s goal was correctly disallowed but we did have several other chances which no keeper other than Cech would have kept out.
No strikers or not; Chelsea with 10 men - irrelevant. Still an excellent performance, especially given Chelsea’s away form coming into the game.
Exactly Robert, he was forced into it. Moyes never makes a sub before the 75th if he doesn't have to! If a player like AVDM, Jutkiewicz or Kissock can?t get a game when we are at home, against 10 men, with a great chance to get a win if the right changes are made, then when the hell will they?

What was the official ruling on Piennar?s apparent goal?
Chandler Bricklemyer - The linesman’s flag was held in the position indicating offside.
Just watched on TV and thought we played well with ball on deck.
This mightn?t go down well but I?ve had enough of Anichebe?s and to a lesser extent Vaughan?s continual absence. Anichebe has let us down time and time again with his fitness, and not just us but Nigeria by the looks of it. He hasn?t got the heart nor the drive to get out there and give it a go.
Vaughan has got heart and commitment but lacks a brain to take care of himself and it's about time Moyes gets rid of both.
One last point ? it may be me but our injuries seem to always take far longer to heal then other clubs. Saha "will be ok for City game", Saha and Anichebe will be ok for Chelsea game" ? can Basil Rathbone please get his finger out and earn his money!
Gary - We played well up against 10 men but while it was 11 V 11 we looked like small boys.
Good point though. COYB

Thanks guys. I had to watch on mute at work and missed any explanation.
Hard to be happy with a draw, considering. But glad to see Terry’s penchant for clumsy challenges finally addressed.
A good result in which we deserved to win, against a very talented team, and still people moan!!!!!!! Enjoy the moment and have a very Merry Xmas.
Cech’s continued brilliance throughout the game stopped us from gaining three points.
Positives:
We look like a team... not a collection of players.
We have a semblance of a half decent midfield and have discovered defensive frugality.
We have rediscovered the art of possession through accurate passing - sometimes.
Negatives.
Cahill isn’t a striker... he just isn’t
Injuries
We needed a little bit of luck... but we’re Everton... we don’t get luck.
Howard-7-did well when needed
Hibbert-7-Got better as the game went on
Jags-8-So consistant
Yobo-8-Excellent, when you dont notice him it means he plays well
Lescott-8-Another sold game and coped with Drogba well in the 2nd half
Osman-7- Worked hard and had his defensive duties to do
Fellaini-5-Wasnt his best game and not to effective
Neville-7-Solid and showed composure and experience
Arteta-9- Controlled the game and my m.o.m
Peinaar-7- Again worked very hard and unlucky not to be a hero
Cahill-7-Not a striker but he always is a threat and id never dooubt him not to give 100%
SUBS
Baines-6- Looked sharp and passed it well
Leighton Baines did improve our attacking ability from left-back & I was very impressed with him. With Yobo set to be out for a few weeks because of his hamstring, I?d like to see Bainsey be given a chance and hopefully he?ll strutt his stuff!
Totally agree with Garry Corgan. I thought we were excellent tonight, a few stray passes from Pienaar and shite set pieces from Arteta, but on the whole the commitment from the team was terrific. Well played, lads, more of the same, just need a striker now.
Great comment, Tom, when you don't notice Yobo, it means he plays well. Bosingwa has been unstoppable this season ghosting past everybody except when he came up against the mighty Jagielka. What a player. He is definitely the player of the season so far and if he doesn't get an England run soon it's a joke. He's as good as that overhyped bottler Terry. Baines will get his chance now on the left. Neville... I am sorry lads but he would be my first name down on the sheet. Great captain.
Tom Campbell ? a bit harsh on Marou IMO...
Lee Smith obviously knows more about David Moyes’ players than David Moyes himself. I assume that’s the case anyway, as he seems to have it on good authority that Jutkiewicz and Kissock would’ve changed the game today.
News flash, Lee Smith: Jutkiewicz or Kissock do not even light up the reserves. Why do you think they would suddenly make a difference against one of the best teams in the world?
Just because they’re strikers that doesn’t mean they’re Premiership strikers. Moyes sees them every day - how many times have you seen them?
Thank you Brian, you have sense.
We should still be happy to take a point from such a good team... I think Moyes did right not to go too attacking after the sending off coz they still have the players on the pitch to rip us apart. To contain them to 2 shots on target shows an immense defensive display! Lets face it - without a striker to speak of, it’s hard to play truely attacking football.
We could / should still have won it, and I don’t know why, but I’m starting to love Screech. The rating from Tom above is unfair... If his cheeky back-heel had gone in and not just past the post, he would have become an instant legend! Merry Christmas everyone, and lets go win the FA Cup!
After having watched the match at the pub i was impressed and felt we lost 2 points rather than having gained one. Having 8 shots on target against Chelsea is very promising but would have looked for at least one goal. Cech proved his value. Here are my ratings.
Howard-7.5 - very good save early on and then controlled the box for the rest of the match.
Hibbert -7- in the first half was getting turned a lot by Cole but in the second performed solidly and even gave a decent cross or two
Yobo -8-controlled Anelka and Drogba until substituted. Hopefully his hammy isn?t that bad. He was immense in the air.
Jagielka -8- like Yobo controlled the middle of defence
Lescott -8-attacked well down the flanks and was solid in defence. One of his better performances of the year.
Neville-8.5- i thought he was immense. controlled the midfield and Frank Lampard was in his pocket. alot of good tackles and passing
Arteta -7.5- he played very defensively with Neville and did well controlling the tempo, but his set pieces weren?t up to scratch.
Osman -7- Hard working but not that effective
Pienaar-6.5-Thought he had an off day on the ball, did his defensive duties well though. Thought Moyes could?ve subbed him with Shandy.
Fellani-8-constant aerial menace, became very tired but always was in your face. Had chances which on another day may have gone in.
Cahill -7- worked his but off but against a very good central defence found conditions trying and was assaulted by Alex a couple of times.
Sub
Baines -6- whatt he did he did well. Nice cross for fellani?s flick
Maybe I was harsh but it was my instant opinion, He looked tired but the effort as there and I cant ask for more. 3points on Stevens/Boxing day lads. COYB
To Brian Richardson and Robert Jones - In that case, if neither of them are good enough, then why are they at the club sitting on the bench, when they could be out on loan, getting regular first team football in the Championship / League One, therefore building up their ability / confidence, to an extent to which they would be benefitial to the first team, rather than just making up the numbers?
Lee Smith
Because our squad is way too small
Strange. Thought pip can’t play in the middle. If I can recall, last season, we were screaming at moyes to put him in right back.
Guess we can finally put at end to our carsley search.
Tom, I agree that our squad is small, but you are using some strange logic in a sense. It’s like saying "Our squad is too small, therefore we can’t send our most promising youngsters out on loan to gain much needed first team competitive football, because if we become short of numbers in their positions, we will need then to sit on our bench just so we can not use them at all while we use defenders or midfileders instead". If that’s the case, when are these lads going to get the chance to develop?
Also then, wouldn’t Moyes have been better off spending what money he did have more astutley (sp?!) during the summer. Buying a centre forward with an awful history of injuries in Saha, to accompany our already injury prone ’back-up’ strikers of Vaughan and Victor, having already sold AJ, doesn’t seem the brightest thing to do now does it?
Another note to add, wasn’t it Moyes who decided to spend a quarter of a million on Scott Spencer a couple of years ago ’for the future’? I have no idea how the lad is doing now, but it’s another example of Moyes’ future plans not working out.
Don’t get me wrong lads, I thought we played well tonight, but it’s another game which has left me sitting here thinking ’what if’.
For future reference this link is pretty good for most major sporting events
http://www.channelsurfing.net/
Happy with the point but I just wish Moyes would of give Van der Meyde 10 mins or so to give us something a bit different out wide and possibly give young Jutkiewicz a go upfront, ya know someone with more of a strikers instinct upfront because for me Cahill was pulling out wide to much for my liking and I just wish Moyes had the balls to throw Jukes on for 5 or so mins to have a real go at beating Chelsea tonight!
Honestly some people on here make my blood boil. You could not get any more out of what was available. You should be proud, to criticise after that fucking riles me. With one iota of luck we would of won. I thought we were great! Did you not see the teams walking out together? There is no comparison, one is like a world XI and the other has Hibbert at right back. Get a grip!
My thoughts exactly Aide, but apparently according to Ste and CXo, we are not allowed to put such wacky thoughts forward. Ste, take a chill pill mate, only 3 more sleeps 'til Santa.
This was our best performance this season but we have played well for a couple of games. It didn?t make no difference if CFC was playing with 10. Anyone who?s ever played/seen anything knows it don't mean a thing. Still, I have to say Hibbert andOosman (and i used to think they were useless, oh to be wrong like that again and again) were great tonight. I agree with you, Garry, Cech was great tonight.
All I keep thinking to myself is that we had a massive opportunity tonight of beating Chelsea once Terry got sent off and it just riles me when Moyesy wont be brave enough and throw on the likes of Van der Meyde or Jutkiewicz and give it a go. We was at home against ten-men Chelsea for god sakes, we won't ever get a better chance of beating ?em in my opinion!
Good performance for me. The passion seems to be back, the workrate is top notch and we played some good stuff in the second half. Everything I want to see from the players. We're playing as a team again.
Compare that to some of the gutless performances we?ve seen at Goodison this season, it?s what I want to see. We had a go and with a bit of luck would?ve won the game.
It was always going to be hard to break them down. They're excellent defensively and we had no strikers on the pitch.
I?m happy, could?ve been better but it wasn?t through lack of trying. We didn?t just sit back and play two defensive midfielders. We had a go and tried to win the game.
No chill pill needed mate and I am too old and too wise to believe in Santa. Like you, though, Lee I am frustrated by our ability to change those ?in-the-balance-we-could-win-this? moments. That isn't Moyes's fault, he can't pull quality players out of his arse, Lee. If you think that any of those youngsters (or VDM) could have made a difference against Chelsea, then you are a fool. If they truly could have he would have used them.
You criticise Moyes for spending ?a quarter of a million on Scott Spencer a couple of years ago?. Fuck me, if he could spend £30m a go on strikers like at Chelsea he wouldn't be scrounging around hoping the likes of Scott Spencer pay off!
Harsh but true this is Everton?s worst Start to a season at Goodison EVER. Another Moyes achievement. Mark Hughes, swap jobs, mate ? and then we can see how good DM really is!
Connor ? you mean seeing if he can get a team where one player cost more than our starting 11 today into the relegation zone? I get the feeling Moyes could do better for fuck's sake.
Lee Smith, I?m sorry mate but the criticisms of your comments are spot on. They?re not good enough to play first team football and if they were then they?d get a chance. We DO need squad players to make up the numbers, clubs like us wouldn?t survive without them, but they are very much there as last resorts. Tim Cahill would probably get into some of the poorer sides in the Prem as a forward, Jutkiewicz wouldn?t.
Lee, Jutkiewicz was on loan at Plymouth last year and Kissock was at Gretna. The have had their experience and maybe they're just not good enough even if we're missing 4 strikers. Moyes obviously prefers experience to a natural unproven player.

He deserved it .High and late tackle on Osman .
