Today's Game!

Comments (64)

Great opportunity for us today to show the Sky 4 that we are intent on chasing them. Arsenal are only a few points ahead of us and despite Aston Villa looking very consistent, we are showing that we can keep up with them even with our current injury crisis. Win today and the confidence spills over into the New Year.

Come on Everton!!!!!

What I must say that in the absence of any strikers, it seems to have had a drastic effect on the way we play. Hoofball is not nearly as prevalent as earlier in the season, and you can see how it has improved our results.
More of this Mr Moyes!

I agree Nick... it surprises me they don't try and "hoof" it up to Fellaini more, but I'm glad they don't, they look so much better with Mikel in the middle where he belongs...

What do we need strikers for??? ? only joking, we can't go the rest of the season with no strikers... can we??

Cheers. I downloaded Sopcast last year too and it usually has a decent picture but I’d never pasted a link into it before and didn’t know you could do it until now. Got it now and looking forward to a few more goals. Bit disappointed Gosling isn’t playing again.

I?d like to see a statistic on how many goals we scored in first 10 games on set pieces. I don?t think it would be many. Arteta has certainly improved his set pieces.... FINALLY!
If you put the ball in the right places, you will get enough goals off set pieces. I really think this is what we were lacking during our dire form. It would have helped at least!

Aston Villa to lose their next fixture and fingers crossed Boro can pull off another win at Old Trafford (very much doubt it like, but ya never know... they?ve done it before?!!). That would top off a great end to 2008 for us with us, in reach of the top four after the start we had and on top of that the injuries we've got... here?s to a great New Year for Everton FC!!!! COYB!!!!

The only reason I want Utd to win is cos let's be realisitc, 1) we won't catch them and 2) can't have Liverpool winning the feckin league.

Great game, Arteta looking so much better in the middle. Was a bit dissappointed that we seemed happy with 2-0 for some parts of second half. We let them come at us and any half-decent side may have punished us. Glad to see the young lads come on though. Would like to see more of Lukas. He?s a suprisingly big lad. Only really got one proper touch but he brought the ball down superbly and played a great pass wide. Definately one to watch.
