For us Everton fans, there's a cruel irony in the picture that accompanies this article... It actually makes me angry.

Keith Hackett, the head of Professional Game Match Officials Limited, has ordered referees at all levels to show greater courage by responding to challenges which endanger the safety of an opponent with a straight red card.

Funny that. Show courage? Does that mean that Clattenburg was a sh!thouse?

The accompanying picture does rub a bit of salt into the wound? I wouldnt be supprised if the reporter was a red taking the piss.

Am i being paranoid.

Cue an increase in dramatics as soon as a player gets tackled or a player (not necessarily defensive) goes in for a tackle. Doesn’t this just mean that there’s an increased risk of Neville or Hibbert getting straight reds? Thank small mercies that Carsley wont be hogging the hot water before the final whistle.

I agree with Chad, this will only lead to us getting more red cards, not the RS.

No matter how many new rules you bring in, the Sky 4 will always find a way of weaseling the rules to their advantage. This will be no different.

Refs aren’t bothered when managers like Moyes publicly have a pop at them, as it usually ends up in a fine for that manager. However, if its any of the sky 4 managers (barring Grant last year) they know they will more than likely be at Aldershot the following week refereeing a blue square game! The courage needs to be shown from the top and downwards and not all this ’what if G14 take all their teams off us’ bollocks!
