Steve Round signs

Comments (22)

So at last Steve Round has signed, he comes with some experience even if quite young. I believe Moyes has been holding out on buying anyone new until this has been sorted as he wants to get his assistant's opinion. So lets hope the next week sees a few transfers coming in.

A great addition to Everton Football Club! And the very best of luck to Steve Round! Because David Moyes definitely needed a good strong, wise, dedicated man working alongside him and the rest of the backroom staff!!!!! So come on you Blues, a couple of class signings and let?s win a bit of silverware.

I maybe being overly optimistic but he spends 2 out of 5 mins of his first ETV interview talking about new signings and using them to push on.

Does this mean we will be getting some (or have BK and KW lied to him about players coming in as I?m sure some people will suggest!)?

Round strikes me as another ?nodding dog? who will do whatever Davey says. His record with England and Newcastle is shite!

My local Labour councillor said to me today,’Kenwright needs saving from himself’ and he’s relying on us to do it for him’. How true is that!

How can anyone gauge if Steve Round's record is shite as an assistant manager???????? Ok, the clubs he served might have been shite, but surely that is the fault of the manager and not his number two, who could well be perfectly capable at his job. Give the poor bloke a chance ay!!!!

I second that, Al! The poor bloke has barely shut the door behind him and we’re already pointing our fingers at him!

I think the problem has been he has worked under shite managers who have limited ability like Bung Allardyce and Unbrella McClaren so you cant really judge him on that..
I think the more important matter right now is Everton FC buying some additions to this paper-thin squad we have and I find it appalling when we have to call off two friendlies due to a lack of numbers. So much for having players in for a full pre-season this summer.

All that matters is we got who Moyes wants to assist him.

Number two to McClaren at M?borro & England (during one of their worst spells) doesn?t really get the pulse?s racing does it? BUT we?ve got to give the guy a chance.

More important surely is getting Moyes to sign as there can be no more excuses over the delay now. I think he should either sign or come out publically & say what the problem is.

There can also be no more delays over getting people in as the lack of numbers is now affecting pre-season preperations.
Surely even the ?Calm down, calm down? brigade on here (You know who you are!) must understand the concern now.

I can’t believe that Moyes has got his man and there are STILL people on here having a dig! Who should we have got? Sir Alex Ferguson maybe? Sheesh!

And no, I am still not panicking about having signed nobody less than 100 hours into the transfer window. As I have said before, take all the time you need Davey, just get the right people in!

Fooking Hell, I wish we’d hurry up and sign somebody so we had something proper to discuss. I mean FFS lads, calling an assistant manager shite is desperate. Its like having a go at the Tea Lady saying she’s shite cos she uses UHT milk. Come on boys lets get real.

I think the Tea Lady is fair game if she uses UHT milk!

If he’s the man Moyes wants, I trust his judgement and wish him well. COYB!!

It’s Wynness who makes the tea.

My cousin has a friend who works with the old tea lady’s nephew and he mentioned it one day when they were on holiday in Malaga. Apparantly, Moyes won’t sign a new contract tilll the UHT issue is addressed by Kenwright and Wynness loses responsibility for all liquid related matters at the club.

She could buy any sort of milk people wanted if the ground was nearer to a Tesco store....

Will Tesco allow them to buy a pint of milk over 5 years with 10p installments?

Wonder if Round got in Owens ear about a cheeky pay cut and a chance to play for his boyhood club? The Yak & Owen gotta be worth 40 goals a season... at least it would stop him scoring against us!

They reckon Bill Kenwright got 150,000 club card points when we bought Yakubu...

Anyone know how long Steve Round has signed for? Not read any details on length of his contract... intrigued to know as it may shed some light into how long Moyes is also planning to stay and could not see Round signing for a few years knowing that Moyes would not be prepared to commit. Maybe he has also signed a 'rolling' contract with us....

Deja vu revisited

Then: Bill; sorry you've got to go Walter, the fans are on my back, thanks for the effort. BTW, can you recommend a good cheap up and coming replacement??.

Walter, well there's this guy David Moyes, no great shakes as a player, but is well respected. Late 30's, hungry to move on up.......

Fast forward....

Now: Bill; Sorry you have to go at the end of the season Dave, but Tesco are on my back and all the money is ring fenced. BTW, can you recommend a good cheap up and coming replacement??

Dave, well there's this guy Steve Round, no great shakes as a player, but well respected, late 30's, hungry to move on up.

Bill, thanks, we'll get him in now so the fans get used to him
