Comments (14)

As you may of heard, Joseph Yobo's brother, Norum Yobo, has been kidnapped in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. The details of the kidnapping are vague, but anyway I'm sure all us Evertonians and everyone involved with Everton FCwish him the best and that the situation is resolved quickly and successfully!

All the best!

I hope that his brother is reunited with his family asap. This is the worst that can happen to a family. I hope the kidnappers release his brother asap.

Soon as I heard this story, I thought, "Who on earth would do such a thing as kidnapp someone?"

Not only is the Big Joey's brother ? it's another human being, My heart and thoughts are with Joey and his family at this truamatic time.

Horrible news. Hopefully he gets back safe and sound. The same thing happened to Wilson Palacios at Wigan aswell as a few other footballers.

I haven’t anything new to add but I would like to echo the sentiments expressed above.

Our thoughts are with Norum and his family.

I can’t imagine how hard it must be to go to work when something as terrible as this happens to your brother. Let alone standing in front of 40,000. so lets make sure Yobo hears our support for him and his family at the next home game.

The deplorable kidnapping of Joseph Yobo's elder brother appears to have its roots in the past football success of the Nigerian national team according to this report:

http://www.thisdayonline.com/nview.php?id=116272

Apparantly Joseph was asked to organise the allocation of land provided as a gift to the successful super eagles team - and his brother was involved in the coordination efforts.

Perhaps the original land owners do have a case - but let's hope that Joseph's brother is released unharmed now that the issue has been highlighted to the world's media.
